Manitoba Moose Update:
In a meaningless game against their upcoming playoff opponents (Texas Stars), it has turned into a chippy affair where the teams are parading to the penalty box. The Moose are short-handed with Brad Lambert & Nikita Chibrikov not dressed, but Parker Ford is in the lineup. Taking advantage, Winnipeg 1st rounder Colby Barlow scored his 1st professional goal on a PP (2nd AHL game) and another Jets' 1st rounder (Ville Heinola) is having a night!!! 4 assists and a goal with 8 minutes to play, as Manitoba has feasted on the PP (4 for 6) to take a large lead (7-2). Jeff Malott took the team lead in goals with 22 until Kristian Reichel scored two to get to 23. Oskari Salminen left the game in the 1st with what appeared to be an injury and Thomas Milic has stopped all 14 shots he faced since coming in.

Is the moose a permanent thing? as in does true north worry that people are buying moose tickets for the value instead of Jets? Manitoba averages around 4,000 per game throughout the year. Cheaper to bring the kids, but not sure how much impact it has on Jets' ticket sales. I buy the AHLTV package to watch the Moose games and figure that is just another revenue stream for the Jets, who have never lost money in any season since moving from Atlanta (despite the owner's complaints about tickets sales).

Not losing money and not selling out means prices could probably come back to reality for the Jets I miss AHL hockey. New england got raided when alot of the teams moved west.

Then the PP exploded for 5 straight goals to give them a huge 8-2 lead.

AHL Hockey is great, next level to graduating to the NHL in North America. And, there are other great Leagues overseas that graduate players to the NHL. 2b9πππ

The Manitoba Moose ended the AHL regular season last night with another win over Texas, with Brad Lambert netting his 21st of the season to lead the Moose with 55 pts (2 pts behind the leading AHL rookie scorer Logan Stankoven's 57, though he did that in less games). Colby Barlow picked up his 3rd point in his 3rd AHL game (goal, 2 assists) with a powerplay helper. 20 yr old Thomas Milic picked up his 19th win in 30 starts.
AHL playoffs begin on Tuesday in Texas, where Manitoba will have to win 2 out of three road games to advance past the play-in round (others on Thursday/Friday).

The Manitoba Moose start up their play-in series versus the Texas Stars tonight as well.
Still undecided if I am going to buy the AHL playoff package, as currently two of the three Moose games overlap with Winnipeg Jets playoff games (tonight 7 pm MB & 8:30 WPG and Friday 7 pm MB & 9 pm WPG). Manitoba is only guaranteed to play tonight and Thursday, so the Friday contest may not even be needed.
Probably will, but $30 US (you get every team's playoff contests) is a bit pricey to watch what could be a game & a half of Moose games.
Go Moose! Go Jets!!
