Well back to square one. 3 Leafs had a chance to clear and failed.

Boston seems to have a little more gas in the tank.

Wouldn't it be nice to see our team in a game 7?
Oh to dream.

Good game to watch. Intense. Great goaltending. Either team deserved the win. Should be a training video for a certain team, also wearing Blue and White.

Series was never in doubt lol. Bruins take it as expected. Key word being series. The best of 7. As opposed to the worst of 5. 2 teams left. Canucks aren't a threat in my eyes. It's Oilers.

Series was never in doubt lol. Bruins take it as expected. Iām not a Toronto fan by any stretch, however, because they are a Canadian Team, I was hoping for them to pull it off. 2b9ššš

This series will highlight the issue of playoff structure once again. Good teams not advancing because they can't get out of their division, frustrates the team's fans. This happens too frequently. The Jets were stuck playing dynasty Edmonton and the strong Flames and losing. Each and everytime. Now it's Toronto's fate. Soon it will be the Pacific division's turn as Edmonton Vancouver and VGK go at each other. Great for Divisional rivalries, but I think a playoffs based on Conference placing that would be more interesting and allow more teams to advance. Spread the wealth, so to speak. I know some of you will TO wasn't good enough but it's only an example of the issue.

Swayman statistically stoned Toronto badly in games 1 & 3 wins for Boston although the Leafs ended up getting pretty good goaltending barring the opening match. I agree about the playoff format, but this year probably isn't a great example since I can't complain about any of the teams that will be in the 2nd round (yes, Vegas' record in the regular season wasn't great, but their current playoff team has plenty of talent so even if they end up pulling out the series in game 7 for the "upset").

I know some of you will TO wasn't good enough but it's only an example of the issue. At first glance, this looks good. Then you take a closer look. Probably, you just prolong the inevitable. But, sometimes an extra round can get a team some footing. Momentum. Injured players might return, but you may lose players through injury. In a progressive 1st against last format: Dallas still gets Vegas. Jets get the Kings Canucks still get Nashville. Avs get the Oilers. Correct me if my math is wrong. Who benefits other than Winnipeg? And it certainly doesn't do Edmonton any good. The Oilers might have the best chance of getting out of the west. Colorado in the 1st round might have put done to that early. It's a double edged sword that doesn't necessarily delay elimination of the better teams. It's strictly record based and as the Jets have proven, regular season records mean squat in the playoffs. We definitely would have had a better shot against the Kings. But, then what? In the east, I think it's still Bruins vs Leafs in the 1st round anyway.

The 1st place PWHL team is allowed to choose their 1st round opponent. How girly is that? Dumb in my opinion.
Another thing is their draft selection rankings. Points accumulated after a team is officially eliminated from the playoffs accrue toward getting the top pick. Sort of an anti-tank weapon. The idea being to keep games competitive.
But, how does that help a really bad team? Seems to me it benefits the bubble teams a lot more.
