Winnipeg is a great sports town, we got the Jets, the Bombers and their new stadium, the Goldeyes good cheap baseball in a great ball park, amazing festivals all summer long, a good music scene, lakes and cottage country near by, great golf, lots of great restaurants and the cost of living is fair, just in the past few years there has been this amazing vibe in the city and its an overall a great place to live, if you choose to come to Winnipeg Welcome and Go Jets Go

hi i'm a hockey fan who lives in regina but am thinking of moving to winnipeg because my dad got a new job there so i was wondering what's so fascinating about winnipeg, what's something that stands out from the rest of the cities in canada? - The Forks (historical meeting place where the Reed and Assiniboine Rivers intersect) -T he Exchange District (turn of the century architecture) - Assiniboine Park (best city park in Winnipeg) - The Zoo (Assiniboine Park) - Assiniboine Forest (one of the largest forests of any North American city). - The Royal Canadian Mint (boring but fun for greedy nerds). - Osborne Village (cool place to hang out for all walks of life) - Corydon Village (cool place to hang out in the summer, and more upscale than the Osborne Village) - Wellington Cresent (richest street with mansions along the Assiniboine River) - North Main, between Logan and Selkirk (an area to meet many "interesting" people) - Folklorama (cultural festival every August) - Festival Du Voyageur (Franco-Manitoban festival in St.Boniface)

We don't have a freeway system... definitely not fascinating but it will stand out when you're trying to figure out how the heck to get anywhere.
Exchange District - Good restaurants, good clubs. Corydon Ave. Patios during the summer. Brand new Airport.

super good music. Tons of good local bands playing anything from rock to country to funk to hip-hop and everything else imaginable. Plus we get most major touring acts and the ones we don't almost certainly play Minneapolis, which is an easy drive. Lots of festivals over the summer.
There's also a number of good smaller art galleries and performance spaces scattered around downtown, mainly the exchange district. Winnipeg is one of the few cities I've been to that manages to have an awesome sports scene as well as a kickass music/arts scene. It's all the more impressive when you consider the size of Winnipeg.
Above all else, and I've heard this from a number of people I know who have moved here from elsewhere; Winnipeg feels like home in no time. It's the type of place that might seem completely unappealing if you're just spending a day in town or passing through, but if you spend any significant amount of time here, you'll find something (if not many things) to love about it.
