Finally!
Canada has a kickass soccer team. 6 wins in a row, 1st in CONCACAF. Our first appearance at the World Cup since 1986.
Last night we beat El Salvador 2-0, after a big win vs USA on Sunday.
How high can this team go?

I knew the CFL was really in trouble was when Canada hosted the Mexico match in Edmonton in early November and 40K+ fans showed up. It was cold, somewhat windy and snow on the ground. You couldn't get 20K fans to show up for a Eskimos/Elks game even if it were meaningful. There were more people in Hamilton operating under COVID restrictions last week when Canada played the States than the Argos had all year! Anyway my point is that, not only is the team here and exciting, the fans are too. It would be interesting if our national team would have some "friendlies" against traditional soccer powerhouses to guage how good the boys really are. Competing against Honduras, Panama and the rest of the CONCACAF doesn't really give you a sense of how competitive we are. While recently beating Mexico shows some strength, Mexico's results in the World Cup aren't great (16 wins total). Should be a fun ride while it lasts, and hopefully they can get out of their group in Qatar. BTW the goal of the foot, butt, and ?head while the player, Hutchinson, was prone and beside the net will be a highlight reel goal for years.

Mexico and the USA are both ranked in the FIFA top 15, and Canada beat both of them convincingly. Bring on the best. Canada is the real deal.
