According to my guide CBC will carry next week's Winnipeg - Phoenix game on their Vancouver station which means it will likely be in HD. I would have thought for sure they would have carried Leafs vs Flames leaving Winnipeg only available locally in SD. Colorado also plays Montreal, and Ottawa plays Washington both also on local CBC's.

Well, I'm guessing you're not on Shaw as my Shaw HD Box has channel 209 as CBC HD originating from Toronto. So the HD feed is showing CGY at TOR. SD channel 2 is showing WPG @ PHX (even though the guide says Atlanta at Phoenix LOL)

And based on my Shaw guide Pittsburgh is visiting Atlanta next Monday night. Damn, hope my tickets are still valid. LOL (Seriously Shaw??)

I'm confused about what this thread is about. My MTS guide says channel 416 is playing Winnipeg vs. Phoenix in HD. What's the problem?

I'm with Bell and get SD CBC's from across the country, about a dozen or so (including Ottawa which is usually the standalone channel for Saturday Sens games). Bell also provides the HD feeds for Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver the latter being the one carrying the Jets this Saturday.
I guess that's one of the benefit of being with a national TV provider.

Shaw 209 is still CBC HD Toronto (not Winnipeg). - CBC Toronto is showing the CGY-TOR game
No clue on MTS. What CBC station (city?) is it originating from?

Not sure I understand your question. There are two main CBC affiliates carrying the game on Saturday on my system -- one out of Winnipeg and the other out of Vancouver (ie: NOT Toronto which of course will carry the Leafs). The one out of Vancouver also broadcasts in HD so for those who get CBUT-HD (CBC Vancouver) will likely see the game in HD.

That's my problem, Shaw Digital 209 (the only CBC HD channel available) is the CBC Toronto feed so stuck with the Leafs game in HD. Not planning on changing to Shaw Direct, Bell or MTS this week for this one game.
So unless something happens in the next 6 days with Shaw and/or CBC Winnipeg, I'll be watching the Jets game on Saturday in Standard Def.

I was at the game an I pvr'd the game on 416, so when I went to rewatch the game I was upset it came in as SD.
