I was asked this question today at work by one of the parents on my kids teams....and I am not sure. I know they had teams/community clubs do it before at the Moose games....but with the machines/kiosk for the 50/50.....I was wondering if the Jets just keep their share for their foundation.
Anybody know?

they had the kiosks last year as well and it was still local hockey teams or charities. I assume it stayed the same. ... actually, I stand corrected. Proceeds to the Jets Foundation jets.nhl.com/club/page.htm?id=73235

Hopefully the True North foundation helps out minor hockey or other events for kids

I am sure that with everything TN has accomplished to date, that this will be something done just as class act, I have no doubt about that.
and wow, seeing the take home amount for the lucky winner was pretty exciting!

I just want to make sure I'm contributing to a worthy organization and not some criminal cartel (Al Quaida, the Liberal Party of Canada, the Free Bernie Madoff Fund).

Some of the things the MB Moose Yearling Foundation did last year: * hockey camp for kids who can't afford to play * 3 Christmas dinners at inner city schools instead of a team/staff Christmas party * Children's Hospital visits * charity events / various donations all year
The Winnipeg Jets True North Foundation is the same thing, just under a different name. Season ticket holders will likely get, at some point, a report of all the work the foundation did over the previous year. The Moose published a detailed package (including dollar amounts for certain events) and sent it out to season ticket and mini pack holders. Since it's all the same people working for the Jets, I'm assuming they'll do the same.

The Winnipeg Jets True North Foundation is the charitable arm of the Winnipeg Jets, and ‘charity of choice’ for the MTS Centre. The Foundation allows players, their partners, coaches, board members, and True North staff to contribute to the community of Manitoba in a concerted and centralized manner.
The foundation operates under the direction of Dwayne Green, Executive Director, in partnership with a dedicated volunteer Board of Directors.
What is the purpose of the foundation?
The main goal of the Winnipeg Jets True North Foundation is to strengthen and broaden the base of the Winnipeg Jets' involvement in the community. It succeeds in this area by providing funds to local, registered charitable organizations strictly in the Province of Manitoba who provide programs and/or initiatives for children/youth with a focus on healthy living.
All of the 50/50 money goes to the foundation.
