sorry, I meant in the comment section after the article, he was correcting Sinclair Unfortunately, there are no comments and it would appear that there never will be any. I find it strange that a correction or edit hasn't been published yet, I mean he does work for them after all. The day the story was online comments were allowed, Darren then mentioned that the donations from tshirts etc were used as part of the money to buy tickets. They were probably getting spammed by his few detractors so they closed the comment section LOL has Sinclair ever offered up a correction!!!

You can't correct excellence and journalistic perfection!!! He's Gordon Freaking SINCLAIR. He's kinda a big deal, don't you know? In other words, I'm not a fan, think Sinclair is a pompous $*& and don't think his ego will permit him to "correct" anything.

The problem with the Free Press and one of the reasons some people like myself dont post at their forum is that the Freep thinks they ARE the news rather than simply reporting it. Every media editorializes but there is an extreme arrogance with which the Freep does.
They believe in free speech unless it's something they disagree with. Then they embrace censorship. And if they really, really dont like you, they will use their power and contacts to silence you (Great Canadian Talk Show being the perfect example).
I wish I had got in on the DF thread before it was locked because he replied to my post and more or less tried to paint everyone who disagrees with him with the same brush which isnt fair. It's ok to disagree.
And I stand by my own personal position that my problem with how Jetsowner ended was not DF "becoming" the news or whatever (I worked in nightclubs for many years and was a go-to guy for many local media when it came to anything nightclub security related so I know how it works when the media has you in their contact list...they call you answer). It was that there seemed to be some secretiveness to the process of switching to the Freep. That bothered me. I am sure DF had an olbigation to the FREEP to try and push his people over their but it left a sour taste.
To be referred to as rif raf either directly or indirectly also is a slap in the face. I am sure I am not the only longtime jetsowner member who disagreed from time to time with DF. He and I exchanged messages many times (and find out we had a connection from the past as he knew my brother).
Im not a hater. Just an occasional disagreer. The fact that isn't ok is the exact reason why the Freep forum should be avoided.

The fact that isn't ok is the exact reason why the Freep forum should be avoided. x2 I was a long time Jetsowner user, and something about DF just started to rub me the wrong way. His subtle way of bragging about any interaction he ever has with anyone related Winnipeg Jets, the "wink" from Chipman, the signed T-shirts, his tweets "having a hotdog with _____", etc ... Here's a story for you: last Monday, one of our IT partners invited to their suite for the Jets vs Pens game. Coincidently, Dale Hawerchuk and Rod Black were in our box. It was neat. We got to speak to him. That was it. Let's not pretend like we're all of a sudden best friends. In Darren Ford's world, he would have tweeted something like: "Sitting in a box, enjoying beers with Hawerchuk, discussing Shiefele's future"... which would imply he was somehow actually friends with the guy. For example, at the draft he tweets: "Just spoke to Scheifele, great kid, he'll fit right in, great parents too." Innocent enough, but I think to myself: Really? He'll fit right in? You know the "boys" in the dressing room Darren? You know who'll be a fit, and who won't? The real story probably goes more like this: DF walks down to the floor from his seats at the draft, hangs around until someone from the Jets walks by, says a quick hello, and leaves. Just because I go to Moxies, and happen to see Bryan Little having a beer, and I say "hello" doesn't mean I'm "having a beer with Bryan Little" ... that is what I find nauseating about Darren Ford. Except for his subtle way of "bragging", I'm sure he actually is a good guy with good intentions. I respect everything he's done in bringing us together to support the cause. His recent antics have put me off, but to each their own ... to some, every interaction he has with the Jets just seems to elevate their warship of him. I find that part funny.
