Good morning everyone,
Last nights game here in st.John's was a wild one to say the least. 3-3 after the first, IceCaps came out asleep in the 2nd. But thankfully to a broken pane of glass leading to an early intermission, our boys got their legs back and came flying.
Klingberg and Machacek were both beasts tonight. Both of these kids work their asses off and tonight it really paid off. On Redmons Goal Klingberg deserves all the credit. The whale had control of the puck and Carl was the only icecap left in the offensive zone. He relentlessly chased the defender, outworked him in the slot stole the puck and created the setup. It was a true hard working play. It was great to see. Fantastic player to watch, you guys are going to love him in the Peg.
Machacek is not afraid to get into the dirty areas. He had a flash tonight of some real soft hands. Beautiful neutral zone rush and drive to the net around everyone. Great vision on the ice as well. Really noticed him out there tonight. Both he and Klingberg Were pretty sound defensively and knowing your assignments.
Cormier for once actually stood out with his limited ice time. He only had a couple of shifts, but he made the most of them by scoring a goal. Good energy guy, not flashy. Like I said he had minimal shifts last night. Hopefully the coach is trying to wake him up or send a message. Up to tonight he was nearly invisible. But like I said, the shifts he did have tonight you could notice him.
Jaffray played a great game. Real glad to see him get the hatty. Not overly noticeable, but gets the job done and works hard in all 3 zones. Happens to be in the right spot at the right time. You can tell he's on a bit of a roll here now. I imagine he will have a few points today as well.
Pasquale didn't have his greatest game of the season. He was like rubber tonight, a lot of rebounds. Seemed like he was fighting the puck, but at the same time in the 2nd our defense was essentially asleep. Positionally he was good, but his rebound control just wasn't there tonight.
Won't be at today's game folks, I'm giving my seats to someone else to enjoy today. I'm staying home to watch my Chicago Bears beat the Detroit Lions. Have a great day guys.
