Anyone know what the visiting teams think of the ice at MTS? I would think it would rate pretty high.

I've heard Edmonton is considered to have the best ice in the league, but MTS for sure must be up there by now, everything is new as far as refrigeration.

Actually the ice is not good. They were forced by the NHL to put a new plant in this past summer yet the ice still is not great. Could be a ventalation problem but overall not great. Watch late in the periods the puck looks like a tennis ball the way it bounces and guys begin to fall making a turn due to choppy ice.

I know earlier in the season they were blaming it on the warm temperatures, but during Monday's game it didn't look much better.

I have played on it 3 times pre-NHL and it was terrible ice. I know they have done some upgrades but the way the puck bounces around I'm sure it is much better.

Yeah I've actually heard nothing but bad things about the ice here. Still gotta be better than in Florida or places like that but I've heard a lot of bad things from buddies who have played on it, and it's sure hard not to notice I've been sweating every game I've attended (sitting in the upper deck but still... and I wear shorts, a T-Shirt and a Jets jersey every game so far)

I wonder what the problem could be, seeing as how it is a brand-new ice plant in a relatively new facility.

Disappointed to hear this. The ice at the old Barn was highly thought of and I hoped that the new barn would be the same.

Interesting. Madison square gardens is widely regarded as the worst in the league cause of all the events they hold on non hockey days

my old hockey team plays once a year at mtsc, and the ice has always been fairly rough and sticky. the boards however are very soft. you could run into them full out and you just bounce off

I remember a couple of years ago Jason Krog of the Moose said the ice was among the worst in the AHL.
I think the fact that there are so many non hockey events at the barn certainly impacts it.

Same problem in the Saddledome.
Too many non hockey events affects the ice.

I have heard the poor ice comment and you can see the puck bounce around a ton. I would think TN would bring in Dan Craig to help them fix the ice
