We gotta get somebody. If Burmi is not playing on the top 2 lines, we can't waste his talent with Fehr and Jaffray. I like both Fehr and Jaffray but Fehr's still got work to do and Jaffray is a grinder. Burmi needs somebody who can keep up with him and go to the right spots and somebody like Okposo, Turris or Comeau could be that answer.

So will we pick him up? If we do and he works out, who goes? I'm guessing Jaffray since he's the only one with a two way contract. or Stapleton could get sent down despite only having a one way. Stapleton passed waivers and can be sent down unless he plays 20 games I believe. I don't know if TN is willing to take this guy's contract, especially in his last year. I'd go for it though and if he can't be resigned he can't be resigned.

The Jets can't just pick up everyone on wavers obviously. They have to be selective, taking into consideration a number of factors. So, my question -- as someone that knows little of Comeau -- what does he bring to the table -- or potentially bring -- that we do not already have?

This is what faceoff.com says about him: ASSETS: Can be a streaky scorer who can help carry his club for a while, thanks mainly to a very good shot. Can also play either wing position. Owns good size. FLAWS: Must find a level of consistency in all facets of the game in order to thrive in the big league. Can disappear for stretches. Doesn't use his 6-1 frame enough to his advantage. CAREER POTENTIAL: Inconsistent scoring winger. I think people like me are thinking (not knowing all that much about him) that a change of scenery might jumpstart this kid who scored 24 goals last season on a bad team. Might be worth a look as he is still relatively young at 25. But I'm sure the Jets staff know other things about him like character that are also important and I trust them to make the right choice.

Comeau is almost open on his dislike in his coach's decisions. He's been healthy scratched a couple times in favor for Gillies. I would be pretty annoyed too, but who knows what's going on behind closed doors.

Jaffray has done absolutely nothing.......nuff said - lets pick up Comeau He's played 4 games on the lower lines. What's he supposed to do, score 10 goals? His role is to contribute by chipping in and keeping play alive and he's done that well so far. He'll get his bounce soon enough if he keeps playing.

I know he has played only limited games and gets a short amount of ice-time, but i would respectfully disagree with you. In watching him on the ice he looks a bit lost and is barely noticeable. I'll give him this -he hustles, but i'm not sure from what i have seen that he is NHL material. I say that if we have an opportunity to sign someone in his place to make this team better, then we should go for it.

Comeau is a tough one to pinpoint. Here's some "facts" about him: -He's better than Stapleton -He's better than Jaffray -He still has some upside -He is from Sask -He can be a potential 2nd liner if he blossoms -He hasn't been given a great opportunity in NY and was stashed away during his core development on a brutal NYI team a few years ago. -He would be considered an Andrew Ladd type two-way forward. He's not gonna light up the scoresheet, but he also isn't going to quit and chicken out in a gritty game. -He's definitely worth a shot.

Jets problems are they have a lot of 3rd and 4th line depth. And their top six are likely more considered 2nd line guys with maybe the exception of Kane and Little and neither have proven to be top guys for any stretch yet.
And now Burmi is being benched? Whats going on here? A kid like Burmi needs to play with other skilled players. We need to indentify who our lines are and where guys fit in.
If we pick up Comeau (and I'm all for it if the jets, who know far more than me, deem it appropriate), it likely means ditching someone. But it could give us a better scoring 3rd line.

IMO, Comeau wouldn't be a bad pickup. If the Canucks can find a spot for Higgins, we can find a spot for Comeau. He was great when he played in the dub, he can play both wings, has good speed, decent size, 20 goal potential, and he can be a real good 3rd line checker (with hands) or fill in on the 2nd line when needed. I'd grab him...he is exactly what this team needs on the 3rd line - LW! Glass can then be bumped to 4th - where he belongs. The send Jaffray back to the Rock, until Fehr gets to game condition and then make a move with Wheeler. Comeau - Burmi - Fehr might make a sweet 3rd line.

Are you sure this is for Blake Comeau and not Blake Wheeler... Change 6'1 to 6'5 and that pretty much sums up Wheeler as well.

What is Comeau's contract status? 2.5 Mil and he's on his last year of the contract. Thanks!
