Is Montreal a "Stanley Cup Contender"? Why would Iggy waive his NTC to go to the Habs? I agree with you somewhat although I could still see him accepting a trade like that. To me though, it would be a strange deal for Montreal. Do they really consider themselves a contender this year? Maybe they do, but I sure don't and Iginla is the type of player any contender would want but for a bubble team like Montreal I wouldn't want to give up the future for a guy with only a couple seasons left in the tank. But why would he want to go to Mtl? Is the locker room situation in Calgary that bad?

Adam Proteau of The Hockey News says he can't see it happening in a million years, especially if it's an Iggy for Cammalleri trade

I agree though, it seems strange from both sides but particularly Montreal's as I would have thought it would be a team pushing for the cup this year that would trade for him.

Trading Iggy for Cammellari wouldn't help the Habs. Now, if it were gomez, but Cgy wouldn't do that.

lol that makes no sense. The Habs aren't even in the mix as cup contenders.... and given what they'd probably have to give up to acquire Iggy, he wouldn't put them in the mix either by himself. That being said, given his age, the Habs would be stupid to do it unless they were in a good playoff position, and much later in the year (to give them that "edge" in the playoffs as a rental player). I can't see this happening. Makes no sense.

As I said there is a trade on the table and word is iggy is on the table. It came from the same person I got all my other info from. I guess we will see. I sure hope iggy refuses. I would hate to see him end up in Montreal. Blah

Blah you might be right, but you sure as sh it were wrong about the yotes early this season. at one point you said the deal was done and an announcment would be coming in 48hrs. remember that one? now, i will give you a pass on that as it is the yotes and nothing has ever gone as planned there for the past 3 seasons. so, lets see what happens here. it would be an interesting move for sure.

Not going to happen. Montreal isn't a place Iggy has a shot at wining the cup.

This idea is BS! I just can't picture Iggy retiring not as a Flames player!
