We are looking for a member or members to create some wicked game day threads come October! If you want to practice, post an example here...interested to see what members can come up with. Obviously, we can only have one game day thread per game...so we'll have to decide how to allocate the responsibility...any suggestions welcome... It'll be great to chat live when we are watching the Jets play.

I can tell you what I did for a 36 race Nascar season.I stickied the entire season of races in order with tv times and such in its own sub-cat.That way ppl who were going to races in the future could post about in the correct race day. After each event or two I would unsticky those threads so they would go to the back of the line, keeping currant talk in the next event thread. It worked rather well.
I could make a 10 game mock up on my site if you want to see what I mean. And if it was something you wanted I could give you a hand in doing it or do it.I know its allot more games to do then the 36 races I've done in the past,,but some of us dont have season tix-lol

How about a sign up sheet, so posters can pick and choose which games they want on a first come first serve basis?

I was thinking you should break-down the game day thread. Perhaps have one person write a summary, but then have another writer focus on the offense, another on the defense/goaltending, another on the special teams, and maybe one person write about the fights? Might make for good analysis, and people can read just the stuff they are interested in. For example, if I saw the game, but I wanted to figure out why the team got scored on 7 times , I may be more interested on the defense/goalie write-up rather than the whole game summary. I like the idea of having a few writers focus on different parts of the game.

I think I would like to take a shot at this. What kind of setup are you looking for? Should I just make one and let you make changes where you would like one?

WINNIPEG @ PHOENIX *LOGO HERE* *LOGO HERE*
GAMEDAY
The Winnipeg Jets are coming off their 3rd straight win after a tough come from behind win over Ottawa on Tuesday and now face an a struggling team in the Phoenix Coyotes. These two teams last met early in the season during the Coyotes home opener.
WINNIPEG NOTES: *LOGO HERE*
THE NEWS: Jets have won 3 straight and look to carry that momentum forward in December. Even bigger then that though is the return the Coyotes to Winnipeg. Its the Jets vs the Jets. This one has been circled on calendars for since the schedule has been released.
“We are playing really good hockey and the arena is going to be unreal tonight.” said Andrew Ladd following practice. “Just when you think the fans can't get any louder. They could literally blow the roof off of this place tonight.”
LAST 3 GAMES: Fri, 25 Nov 2011Hurricanes WIN 4 – 3 OT Sat, 26 Nov 2011 Bruins WIN 2 - 1 Tue, 29 Nov 2011 Senators WIN3 - 2
PLAYER TO WATCH: Look for Andrew Ladd who has 9 points in the last 4 games (4 – 5 – 9) scoring the OT winner last friday and collected 4 points against the Senators on Tuesday. MY KEY TO THE GAME: The Fans – This is the first time the Winnipeg fans will get to see their old franchise and you have to think that the loud MTS arena might bring out that little extra in each player. If the Jets can score first, look for the fans to make the difference. INJURY REPORT Yeah, like I am going to Jinx anyone!
PHOENIX NOTES: *LOGO HERE*
THE NEWS: After a season ending injury to Shane Doan during last weeks loss to the Stars you had to wonder what kind of effort the team would come up with against Chicago. It was a very ugly game for an already struggling Coyotes team. Some little used players are going to have to make big contributions for the rest of the season and it must start tonight. It really seems like the drive has left this hockey team.
LAST 3 GAMES: Fri Nov 25, 2011 Canucks LOSS 5 - 1 Sat Nov 26, 2011 Stars WIN 2 – 1 SO Tue Nov 29, 2011 Blackhawks LOSS 6 – 2
INJURY REPORT Shane Doan (Leg) - OUT FOR SEASON Ray Whitney (Elbow) - DAY TO DAY (Not Expected to Play)
MY KEY TO THE GAME: For the Coyotes to have a chance tonight the young defensive group are going to have to come up with veteran performance. David Schlemko and Keith Yandle are two names that come to mind. Look for Jason LaBarbera to get the start in net tonight.
Season Series: Winnipeg won their opening road game in Phoenix back on October 15th (3 – 1).
Of Course I will have logos and better game recaps from the past 3 games. Try to have more information under keys to the game including quotes and whatnot. This is a pretty basic setup and I hope to have better spacing and grammar. This is basically a short notice example. The idea is to have main logos up on the top with a cool game day image. I will then use shoulder patch logos beside each teams GAME DAY INFO. I did this on my Word Document, but don't have time right now to transfer them over to here
Once I make up a template that won't be to hard to construct, the rest should be easy.
Let me know what other things you want added and I will begin on a cool template when I get home from my vacation mid August.

That looks pretty darn good for a rough draft/first attempt.

Thanks guys, I have a lot of good ideas on how to make this work, I just don't have the resources during my vacation. Give me a couple weeks and I will spice it up a little.

It was a Ladd give-and-go. He got an assist on his own goal. m.
