I was fortunate to win the ticket lottery for December single game tickets, so my wife and I will be traveling to Winnipeg and attending the NYE game against the Leafs. First game at MTSC (though I did see Game #2 in Chicago), so I'm obviously very excited for this.
Being from out of town I'm wondering what to do after the game. Does anyone know of any awesome events on NYE in Winnipeg that would be fun for people in their late 20s? We're considering the trip a holiday so it doesn't necessarily have to be cheap. We'd consider indoors, outdoors, pubs, bars, public events, concerts, shows... basically anything that would be a good time. I'd love some suggestions.
By the way, that restaurant thread is great. We'll be trying a couple of those.

Stab someone. You will fit right in. (kidding) Outdoors: The forks. They have outdoor skating. It usually is on the river and much larger but the river isnt frozen. There will be fireworks and hay rides etc... Assiniboine Park Birds Hilll park (30-45 min drive from downtown) has horse stables and probably hay rides All the bars will have a big cover, a 3 oz glass of flat warm crappy "champagne" a crappy meat tray and rubbery cheese as the late lunch, be crowded and hard to get a cab from when you leave. Some reading wikitravel.org/en/Winnipegwww.mywinnipeg.com/www.tourismwinnipeg.com/upcoming-eventsAnd hit the Poutinery when hungover

MEXICAN STYLE!!! DRINK TEQUILA, THEN SHOOT GUNS INTO THE AIR!!!!(Unless you're next to the airport) Then weep over the people that were killed by accidental gunfire!

Yea, its hard to skate on a river with large parts of open water. You will likley end up going for a swim in sub zero waters.

To clarify... I have spent quite a bit of time in Winnipeg in the past. I know my way around the city and such. Yes, I'm very glad to be going there, and we aren't worried about getting stabbed (knock on wood though).
The parks are good suggestions as is the Poutinery. Are the parks doing that stuff until midnight, or is it more of a daytime thing? I am specifically looking for things to do after the hockey game.
