A bit anti-climatic as the USA is out of the medal round, but still a game with a lot of pride on the line. Overlap with Jets vs Maple Leafs...I'm going to switch back and forth and PVR it...

Me too Mcguire. For years this was the only hockey I watched. World Junior Christmas break. Year after year. This year I have only seen one game. Amazing how times have changed.

We're going to have to play better to beat Sweden or Russia, That 3rd period was too much like last years gold medal game.

I was at this game with my Dad (another Jets ST holder) and my Uncle (an Oilers ST holder). It was banana's in there. And my Uncle said it was probably the most exciting hockey environment in 5 years in Edmonton (since the Finals)...but IMO, our Jets games/fans still trump it. We are louder...although it seemed the Edmonton fans were much LESS sober. Not quite sure why that is (another reason for our fans to be proud). It seems like the Edmonton ushers allowed a lot more questionable behavior than our Ushers...but I love that about our arena and management.
The intensity that Jets games are able to hold throughout a game is tremendous! There are many times the fans seemed to fall asleep (mind you...so did Team Canada). I was trying to get the fans to boo Etem after he took out Wedgewood...no one seemed to care or notice. It's a totally different atmosphere and just showed me how unique our game experience really is.
I'll be going to the Semi's and Bronze/Gold games this week...so I'll report a bit more about the Calgary fans when I have the chance. I'm expecting it to get very intense...but how intense? We shall see.
GO CANADA GO!!!
