Is he the only guy on his team with a gold helmet? Hah! That's like the old Wayne Gretzky hockey on the Amiga!

This guy has put up some good numbers. I like that the organization is trying to add value without sacrificing a lot of assets and looking for players that may be undervalued in the market. Looks like the "Moneypuck" approach to building a team might make its way to Winnipeg.
Training camp will be interesting.

Is he the only guy on his team with a gold helmet? Hah! I was thinking the same thing. What was that all about.

It doesn't hurt to give the guy a tryout.

Not bad highlight reel, but between the gold helmet and the music I was expecting Borat to make an appearance.

I just looked him up. He had been playing in the SM-Liiga from ~ 2000-08, scoring 94 goals and 122 assists in 285 games. He was then drafted in 2004 (as a 22-year-old) 269th overall by Anaheim.... but kept playing in Finland. In 2008 he was signed to a one-year contract with Pittsburgh and played 7 games in the NHL before being sent to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in the AHL. In 08-09 he scored 32 goals/50 asists for 82 points... the most ever points in a season by a WBS Penguin, or a Finnish-born AHLer.He then played in the KHL.... racking up 52 points in 88 games over a two-year period. He might not be a world-beater, but I think he's worth a shot. He's been playing pro hockey since age 16 when he was signed to Hokki, a team in a second-tier Finnish league. ;D

Hey if he fits the bill as a third or fourth line player on a two way contract, beat the hell out of keeping the same type of player with a one way deal. To take a chance on a diamond in the rough for a fourth line position is not much of a gamble.

I fugure if the guy can surprise everyone and pop a few goals in, why not! I like that the Jets are thinking outside the box
