For Jets/Nordiques stats you guys have to keep in mind that: 1) Both arenas had obstructed-view seats (More in Winnipeg if I remember. In QC all 41 corporate boxes and the last 8 rows of the eastern/western blues were obstructed-view). 2) Quebec Colisée seating capacity until December 1980 was only 10,006. This is why the attendance for the 1979-80 and 1980-81 seasons are so low. After the renovations the capacity was 15,399 until the 2007 ones. No, the capacity was actually 15,750 until the 2007 renovations. And I'm pretty sure the Colisee doesn't have any Luxury boxes, or at least didn't while the Nordiques were there. I'm pretty sure it was 10006 until December 1980 (16000 if standing rooms included). After the upper decks were added, standing rooms were removed and seaiting capacity was raised to 15000+. I remember it was 15750 for a while but eventually 15399 (I think around the '90s). I do not know if they had the boxes, but they're not luxury boxes for sure: more like obstructed view boxes XD (can't even see scoreboard) And yeah, like the Winnipeg Arena, when they renovated the Colisée, they did it wrong: The worst part is that during most Remparts games, they don't ever bother showing the score on the TV monitors and even when they do, some seats are too far away from the monitors to be read and a dozen are hidden behind columns. I don't rememeber if the Winnipeg Arena had obstructed seats in the lower bowl or if they were all in the upper decks, though. The upper decks seats at the Colisée have perfect view.

All I know is when I watched the Flames play in Atlanta or Phoenix it was like a home game when they scored! I've been to nearly every Thrashers home game against the Flames, and I'm wondering where you got this idea from? There were usually pockets of Flames fans spread throughout the arena, but their numbers certainly never totaled more than 200. Now, when it came to teams like Detroit, Buffalo, and, more recently, Pittsburgh, it definitely seemed like home games for the opposition. The Penguins fans pissed me off the most - these people were nowhere to be found back when Milan Kraft and Dick Tarnstrom were their best players. Fast forward to 09-11 and the arena is filled up with disgusting, morbidly-obese Penguins fans wearing goalie-cut Crosby and Malkin jerseys. Talk about bandwagon fans. Fat ones, at that. The Sabres fans were obnoxious and fat as well, but they at least show up to support their team regardless of how the Sabres are performing. On topic, Thrashers attendance has never been anything to write home about. The past 2 seasons were especially bad, and I can say with all honesty that the average weeknight attendance last season could not have been any higher than 7500. They lost so many season ticket holders, and they probably would have lost another 1000 or so if they didn't offer the cheap $23/game lower-level ticket deals in the defend-twice zone. It was honestly depressing to walk into the arena last year. I always held out hope that I would walk in and there would actually be people in the upper levels, but it never happened. There were a handful of Saturday games against O6 teams where we could get up to 16,000-17,000, but that only happened maybe 4 times last year? It was a very depressing atmosphere the past 2-3 seasons. I do have very good memories of the early years with decent, and vocal, crowds showing up for weeknight and weekend games. The 2 playoff games were amazing as well. With that said, what's the point of this thread in regards to Thrashers attendance? This argument, and all of its various points, have been hashed out many times over. You have the team now - who cares what disgruntled Thrashers fans said about Jets 1.0 attendance numbers? If you want to keep bashing Coyotes fans, go head - I'm all for it. I hate the Coyotes and the city of Glendale. But can you give the former Thrashers fans a break?

Everyone argues about what the Coyotes attendance was. The real question is......
What "would" the overall attendance have been if the majority of those supposedly "paid" admissions were at real NHL prices (ones that would make the "disaster in the desert" viable) rather than at less than $50 per seat?
