I had cool experience. I have half season tickets and my wife will be going to games with me when she can. We have special needs kids, so we need a respite worker to watch them if we want to go together.
New Year's Eve, the Leafs are in town and it will be impossible to get a worker that night. My neighbor is a huge Leafs fan and you should have seen the look on his face when I asked him if he wanted to go to the game with me. He was just stunned.
I was wondering if anyone has had any great moments where you surprised someone with a ticket or tickets that they were not expecting?

I'm going to give my best friend tickets to the opener for his wedding gift, I'm sure he'll be happy about that.
I have been so tempted to sell them for a ton of money, but I know that he is a die hard more than anyone I know (outside of ROTJ alumni of course)...

It's a big difference to actually do it... Guess you missed the part where I said I'd give them away for free lol....

I made up 2 fake tickets and gave one to each of my groomsman. They had no idea I was giving it to them. They had previously asked to go to the said games I gave them, but I gave them to them for free.

Hey Sting! What a great story! roo604 What a super gift, and generous to give them away as a gift! A memorable experience is often the best gift you can give!
Sting, I can relate to your comment - we have special needs kids also.
My "fun moment" happened last Thursday night. I am part of a season ticket group - we actually have 7 members of the group for 4 tickets. We had a fun jets memorabilia night, barbecue and ticket draft. It was a fairly complicated draft, because some of us are single seats, some of us want 2 tickets for each game, some are more games, some are fewer. We got a system all worked out, and the system worked fine.
Here's one of the great things from that night. One of our group is from Alberta. He signed up for 10 games 2 tickets as part of our group! He is using his tickets when he comes to Winnipeg, taking friends and family out to games with him. As part of our agreed process, we all talked before the draft about which games that we wanted to get, or timing of games. Our Alberta member said that he hoped that he could get several games during each of the intensive home stands that the Jets have this year - maybe 3 games in each of 3 separate homestands. But when it came to his turn, everyone in our group, to a person, said, "just tell us what games you want to go to!" So he got to make his picks in groups of games, in the early rounds of the draft. By 1/3 of the way into the draft, he had all of his games picked.
And everyone in our group were THRILLED with the games we got. We have a very special group. I have a whole bunch of great new friends in this group!
PS - 3 of us were regulars on jetsowner - myself, "ulf" and "geoffcourtnallsucks"! Thanks again to Darren for making that possible - the formation of this group. It came entirely from the friends I made on that website, friends of those friends, and my extended family. (I also discovered that an insider on jetsowner.com is part of my wife's extended family - we discovered our "other" connection at the family gathering this summer!
What an amazing world this is when we reach out to each other!!!!!!
