Can someone explain exactly what "loaning" a player means? I never followed the Moose that closely, so I don't understand if these guys usually come back at the end of the season?

Instead of playing for our affiliate teams they are loaned to a different AHL/ECHL club.

They are still property of the Jets, as far as I understand. The Moose did the same thing when they acquired Keith Seabrook from Abbotsford late last season. Seabrook was on loan, which meant that he was still property of the Flames, which meant the Canucks could not use him.

Yea some guys dont fit in on a NHL team's farm team, so the NHL club will loan them to another AHL team to try and find a place where he can fit in.
In other cases, a NHL team doesnt have thier own farm team. Which was the case with Dallas a few years back. Dallas sent alot of thier top AHL players (Fortunis, Fistric) to play for the moose because they were a top development system.
