I don't know how many of us crazies actually FOLLOW the Elitserien, but there have been some Jets that came out of there! (I'm looking at you, Mr. Klingberg)
(1)Luleå HF-(7)AIK (AIK wins 4-1) (2)Skellefteå AIK-(8)MODO Hockey (SAIK wins 4-2)
(3)HV71-(6)Färjestad BK (Defending Champions) (FBK wins 4-2) (4)Brynäs IF-(5)Frölunda HC (BIF wins 4-2)
(2)Skellefteå AIK-(7)AIK (AIK leads 1-0) (4)Brynäs IF-(6)Färjestad BK (Defending Champions) (FBK leads 1-0)
GO FBK!!
Also, Djurgårdens IF and Timrå IF (AKA the Red Eagles) are off to Kvalserien, along with four HockeyAllsvenskan teams: Örebro HK, Leksands IF, Bofors IK Karlskoga, and VIK Västerås HK. Top 2 in the 10 game round robin play in Elitserien in 2012-13.

FBK takes a 2-0 series lead on HV71 with a 3-1 home win in Karlstad. Christopher Nihlstorp has been stellar for the defending champs.

If I saw that in any other context I'd think it's one of those Cryptoquote brain teasers that are in the Sunday paper. Or perhaps an excerpt from some coded CSIS document.
Anyone who follows a league where half the teams can't be spelled properly without oddball dots and circles above the letters is hard core!

Scandinavian languages, however, are just a pain in the ass.

In relevant news, Kvalserien has started today. Djurgården IF lost 4-3 to Rögle, Timrå defeated Karlskoga 5-4 in OT, and Leksand edged Orebro 3-2. Good stuff!

Bad news for FBK: Trailing 2-1 to HV71 in Game 3, starting goalie Christopher Nihlstorp was injured.
Replacing his is Jets prospect Frederik Pettersson-Wentzel.

And the same in Färjestads BK-HV71 Game 3 (FBK leads 2-0). A goal for FBK and they've got HV on the ropes....a goal for HV71 and it's a new series headed back to Karlstad.

Brynäs snags the OT winner just over the halfway mark of the first OT. They lead Frölunda 2-1 in the series.
