Let's hope he doesn't go out like Lindros.
What a waste and a blow to the NHL if he was unable to play at the level he is used to.

TSN reports that he is still practicing and expect to play at the start of the season. Source was the Pens GM. Said he still has the odd symptom but hes cleared to workout.

If Crosby has to quit at such a young age it'll be a huge wake up call for the NHL and a tragedy. If Crosby, a guy who's won every thing and the only thing left for him to do is do it all over again can enter retirement with so much hockey left in him who's to say that another promising or marquee player can't get hurt like this either, Like Hall, Toews, Kane, or dare i say Ovechkin?

X2. Take away the dumb instigator rule and let the boys police themselves. You won't have Matt Cooke or David Steckle going after star players heads if they see Bob Probert or Colton Orr jumping on the ice skating right for them!

I disagree with the notion that any significant overhaul is needed, its unfortunate that Crosby's career could be up in the air but really as they say crap happens, its hockey and having an enforcer would not have prevented it. I dont have a problem with enforcers in fact they can make the game preety exciting because they can just be so polarizing as players. What pisses me off is when they, and other players, have to go fight someone who throws a clean hit on a star player. Case in point Moore's clean hit on Naslund that lead to the sucker punch.
Should we put skirts on the star players and make a rule saying they arent allowed to be hit?

Mcguire Ive missed your lack of brains. 1) Moore's hit was clean, the NHL, reviewed it and deemed no punishment was needed, keep in mind Naslund was the leading scorer in the league at the time do you think the NHL of all leagues would allow someone to injure its star player and not punish them? 2) Jeez mcguire what qualifies as an enforcer in your books? One of Tony Sopranos thugs? The canucks had Brad May and Sean Pronger. 3) Your whole stupid argument supports what I said, star players like Naslund should not have a free pass. Hitting is a part of the game.
