After a successful inaugural campaign, the St. John's IceCaps will play host to the Syracuse Crunch in the American Hockey League Playoffs.
Schedule (I will have GDTs up as they come):
1. STJ at SYR Fri Apr 20 7:30 PM 2. STJ at SYR Sat Apr 21 7:30 PM 3. SYR at STJ Wed Apr 25 7:30 PM 4. SYR at STJ Fri Apr 27 7:30 PM * 5. SYR at STJ Sat Apr 28 7:30 PM *
I believe it is this way due to a scheduling conflict at Oncenter or Mile One.
On the NHL note, the Crunch are affiliated with the Anaheim Ducks and have 2 former Jets on their roster: F Troy Bodie and F Riley Holzapfel.
The rest of the bracket:
(1) Norfolk (TB) vs (8) Manchester (LA) Admirals on 28 game winning streak
(3) Bridgeport (NYI) vs (6) Connecticut (NYR) Rivalry #1
(4) W-B/Scranton (PIT) vs (5) Hershey (WSH) Rivalry #2
WEST
(1) Oklahoma City (EDM) vs (8) Houston (MIN) Oh boy....an Oilers team contending? what is this?
(2) Toronto (TOR) vs (7) Rochester (BUF) Mini-Northeast showdown.
(3) Chicago (VAN) vs (6) San Antonio (FLA) Wolves back in the playoffs after missing last year. Some former Moose!
(4) Abbotsford (CGY) vs (5) Milwaukee (NSH) Nothing much to say here.

Any updates if 1290 will be covering the games? Anyone know of any video feeds?

Did the Ice Caps select to play the last three games to take advantage of the potential home ice advantage in game 5?

I always hated playing Syracuse with the Moose. Dirty team.

I always hated playing Syracuse with the Moose. Dirty team. Agreed, but the Crunch had a PK to back up their dirty play. They took a lot of penalties but the Moose had trouble capitalizing. Go (Ice)Caps Go! I wish this series was on TSN Jets. m.

Or be more consumed with NHL Playoffs? I for one, would watch. And TSN could have done a lot of cool stuff to tie the Caps to the Jets (Jets players offering analysis etc) and make a few bucks for True North. Or is that beyond the realm of possible? Do the AHL Playoffs get any TV coverage?

Do the AHL Playoffs get any TV coverage? When I read that the first thing I thought was 'F#*$ Yeah!'. I'd be all over that instead of watching the Panthers play in an empty arena. Plus it's a once-in-a-lifetime experience since this is the only year in history the Jets won't make the playoffs. m.

Did the Ice Caps select to play the last three games to take advantage of the potential home ice advantage in game 5? 2 reasons: 1) travel, since St. John's and Syracuse (or really St. John's and ANYWHERE) are so far apart. 2) There is a Terri Clark concert at Mile One Centre on Saturday. Quick warning: Crunch are probably the hottest team in the league not named Norfolk.

Will Scheifele or Telegin join the IceCaps for their playoff run?
