the changes will be outside. Starting this summer, Centre Venture is adding lighting, the "funnelators" and possibly more glass on the Donald side of the bldg. There were renderings at the SHED press conference recently. Money for this coming from additional property tax generated by Chipman's Alt Hotel complex. Im interested in hearing more about this.... Maybe they will add some waterslides at the MTSC?!?!

Hendrix always alluded to the clock being upgraded if the NHL returned. The clock in Pitt looks pretty sweet. I guess we'll have to wait and see. I would love to see another ribbon banner going around the lower bowl, I think it really add to the atmosphere.

That's the best news I've heard all day! It's great news. Now they are going to have to make decisions as to how people sit in the handicap section. I had 0 problems with people in wheelchairs this year but plenty with people who sat in the section who are not handicap at all, leaning forward on their chairs blocking the entire goal. I hope this will make them sit further back. I hope this will be a win win for everyone but especially for guys like Dave. The black bar has been annoying for me, I can only imagine what it is like for Dave. This problem is in all sections. I am in 306 and there is a guy that is in row 1 closer to centre ice that does everything but touch the rail. He moves to the edge of the seat, leans and hangs his head over the rail. This causes everyone beside him and around him to do the same. I tried to take a picture at my last game with my Blackberry to show everyone on this board what an idiot this guy is and the impact for everyone in the section.....but with the arena being so dark the pictures are very difficult to see. Now I have watched a game in row 1 and the medal bar is very inconvenient for these people. The issue though is that you need to position yourself so that the metal bar is along the boards when viewing. Not like the idiot in 306 that needs to see up to row 10 down below. Now the real issue is the arena. Bottom line is they squeezed the arena to fit into the space downtown and the sightlines are a result of that. In any other city.....the 300's would be starting 10' back and there would be not be any of these issues.

the one change I'd like to see is people realize that during intermission the middle of the concourse isn't a good place to form a circle with your fellow hipster dufus friends and act all cool and make it even more difficult for other people to get around.

You know what, that's actually a good point and observation, plus 1 for you.

Also, would be nice to have some more table and chairs. Smaller table for two, instead of 4 people would be great...saw plenty of people wandering around looking for a seat (myself included) and the big tables for four only had 2 people at them most of the time

I've always thought there should be a separate lane for people that who seem incapable of walking and talking at the same time.

I hate those things. 90% advertising and they make the colour of the ice change every 60 seconds as they reflect whatever colour the advert on the ribbon is. Looks terrible on TV if the ribbons are very low.

I dont see where you could put this new banner though, the one we have now is right above the suites, and I cant think of an area that it would be visable in the lower bowl. Adding one on the wall below the suites would be a waste becasue alot of people in that last row stand during the games and it would look strange having 2 of them less than 15 feet apart.

i'm in 322 row 4 and there are cupholders as far as i can see so i'm not sure why they wouldn't have these everywhere...i'm still a little shocked that a new scoreboard is such an issue...aren't you there to watch the product ON the ice? i couldn't care less what is going on on the scoreboard (aside from the opening before the 1st period) i've watched games this year in my own seats of course...i've been in the lower bowl a few times as well and i could easily read everything on the board...not sure what the complaints are about..seems like we could spend money on a lot better issues...how about converting a few of the female washrooms in the upper bowl to mens? rarely ever is there a lineup for a women's washroom.
and i definitely agree about the people that stand in the middle of the concourse and chat. maybe there should be a few MTSC staff walking around during intermissions asking people to move to the side...upper concourse is especially small so.
all that being said..i think our rink is awesome...all i want is to go there and see great hockey...id' be happy being in the old barn! i think all the money some teams spend no fancying up their arena is kind of a waste. the product inside should be enough to draw people in. its all about the atmosphere for me...not if our scoreboard is as good as Pittsburgh or anywhere else. thats just all fluff to fill time for people that aren't really into the game itself. i sat in the Bud Lounge for a game and the two people beside me were texting and surfing the net on their phones the entire game...never cheered for anything...why are they there? free tickets or not, its disgraceful.

Washrooms..!
They have to solve the line-up problems.
It should not take most of the intermission or leaving early and missing game action just to hit the can.
#1 issue IMHO
