Okay, we couldn't close it out on the road. Three OT wins in a row on the road is a lot to ask for, and towards the end of Game 5 in Wilkes-Barre, it became more luck than skill.
And luck really got the IceCaps there - their first goal was a clear by Jason King that hit the boards, leading Brad Theissen to sweep at the puck and miss, letting it go fivehole, and they appeared to get a second that was waved off because the referee ruled that Max Macenauer kicked it in.
But, the IceCaps return to the friendly confines of Mile One Centre needing just a split to head to the Eastern Conference Finals, where they would face the winner of Norfolk/Connecticut - and the Whale are being a pain in the ass to the Ads.

GAME 5 RECAP
Jason King got a lucky goal in the first to give the IceCaps the lead, as his clear off the boards was misplayed by Brad Theissen. Theissen tried to sweep it away and missed as the puck went five-hole. The Pens would tie it late in the period, and would later take the lead in the third with a 4-on-4 goal by Alex Grant. Paul Postma said "not so fast" to that with a bomb on the power play to tie it. A defensive struggle ensued before Simon Despres won it over midway through a second overtime.
