Has anyone recently seen the Winnipeg "Crying Lady?" I used to come across her all the time. On one instance, she was crying for food, and I had a spare sandwich and Orange. When I offered it to her, she threw the Orange at me, shouting "I'M NOT HUNGRY! I WANT MONEY!!!"
Then she walked away sobbing, shaking signs, and picking out garbage from the bins, and tossing it on the street...

Yes, me and my wife have both run into her a few times. My wife actually sees her all the time as she frequents wpg square.
If you do offer her food, be prepared for a verbal onslaught!

I've had to kick her out of my shop a couple of times for "crying" to customers. Her gig worked well for her but people are starting to realize her scam. Pretty sad life to live.

She's a fraud - she takes the same bus I do and lives in Charleswood. Don't fall for her BS. Last week I saw her at Glenwood Arena in St. Vital. She's always on the hunt for conning another good Samaritan. It sickens me to think how much money she's collected by taken advantage of naive innocent bystanders.

You're right, total scam. Shes been at it for 10 years at least. At the same time I find it sad it's kinda funny. She's not that different from any other pan handler just more dramatic. I'd rather that than some of the aggressive ones that make people feel unsafe. She's obviously a lil f'd in the head but fun to watch and she's only ever scamming a twoonie or so, so who really cares? |

Seen her for years. She used to hang around the Tavern by MTSC trying to scam people. Now in all fairness she is Mentaly ill. But she is so FREAKING anoying!
A good buddy of mine knew her from working with the mentaly handicaped. She is off in the head to be sure but is very aware of her situation and trys to take advantage of good hearted people. Trust me she is fed and has a warm bed to sleep in, and gets a nice check every month from the goverment. There are far worse people out there than her.

My mother worked with the mentally handicapped people for many years. I'm not sure about Manitoba, but in Ontario the prov. government has cutback and cancelled pretty much all the programs for these people and basically kicked them out into society. It's pretty sad that there are no programs for these types of people to keep them busy and make feel like they are accomplishing something.

I used to catch a bus beside the MTS Centre all the time and I've seen her there plenty of times. Bit of a pain in the neck, but apparently all she wants is a toonie for a cup of coffee and a donut.  |

I sometimes work downtown around the central park area and when I cut through portage place I would see that lady.
Thats the cool thing about Winnipeg like in other cities if you posted a video of a person like this odds are no one would know who it is. Reminds me of this guy I used to see outside the sobeys I work at, he would show up around 11pm and sift through the ash tray outside, his jeans would be shockingly low and he would wear like 7 hats at once. The first time I ran into him it was a little creepy but he turned out to e harmless. Anyways I know tons of people who have seen the exact same guy
