I think you should add a "best player available" option.

I said pick a defenseman hoping Matt dumba will be around. I wouldn't mind Griffin Reinhardt either.

Oilers need Dman now, I would give a roster Dman and maybe a one of our prospect Dman (no Bogo, Stuart, or Buff) and our 9th pick.

as fair as that sounds, tambelinni has said it would take a significant offer to get the pick. he knows he can trade yakupov later if hes desperate.

true enough, if Tambelinni doesn't get some Dman soon, he'll be picking another 1st overall next year ;D

Centre and the best one available. I have a gut feeling Scheifele will be a 2nd line forward at best and not a first liner.

I just hope we odn't blow it like the Thrashers did in 2000. They had the first overall pick and went with Patrik Stepan (plug) following him Vancouver picked the Sedins. Let's not pass up on an opportunity like that lol.

The first and second pick overall is up for grabs, time to make a movie and work on the future of this team.

I just hope we odn't blow it like the Thrashers did in 2000. They had the first overall pick and went with Patrik Stepan (plug) following him Vancouver picked the Sedins. Let's not pass up on an opportunity like that lol. He turned out to be a bust, but Patrik Stefan was the consensus #1 pick that year. Let's look at some of the glowing reviews he got before the draft: “He is a big, strong play-maker who sees the ice very well,” said John Van Boxmeer, coach of the Ice Dogs. “The early consensus from scouts is that he could be the first overall pick next year in the NHL Entry Draft.”
“He is going to be a dominating, play-making center,” Van Boxmeer said of the 6-foot-3 195 pounder. “He is a guy who looks to make the play rather than shoot himself. He’ll be a guy who can get 100 assists and 20-25 goals in the NHL.”
“Patrik is a world-class player,” said LA Kings General Manage Dave Taylor. “He is a good skater, a tenacious player, very skilled with the puck and possesses excellent size, strength and work ethic.”
“I have followed Patrik’s progress since December of 1995. The impression he left with me then and throughout the various tournaments I have seen him play, is that he is the brightest young prospect developed in the Czech Republic since Jaromir Jagr, ” said Bob Owen of RHO Hockey, a scouting agency.
“He is a cross between Mike Modano and Sergei Fedorov,” said coach Boxmeer.Daigle the Second in other words. Other than the Sedins, the 1999 draft was weak with the first ten overall including such luminaries as Pavel Brendl, Brian Finley, and Kris Beech. All of whom were picked over Henrik Zetterberg who Detroit grabbed in the seventh round, 210th overall. m.

Ya they really dropped the ball on Stepan. Too bad he didn't pan out. Surprising that he proved everyone wrong lol.
