No worries on sharing those photos with my fellow fans! I already have the one with Bobby Hull being shipped to me from Posterjack in Toronto! I will definitely be framing most if not all of these eventually for my JETS viewing den (some people call it a home theatre but it is the JETS den to me!).
I am just happy that I have fellow Jets fans who are as passionate about our history as I am.

I recall seeing pictures where one of the WHA rinks had clear glass all the way to ice level. Thanks for sharing those great pics skydrvr7! If you go about a minute into this video, you get to see those clear boards in action. Really cool for the fans, but must have been kind of distracting for the players.

just look at the goalie at 2:59 that is why scoring isnt as it used to be. it had nothing to do with infeiror goaltending, but everything to do with equipment. would love to see the GAA for today's goalies using yesterday's pads.
the clear boards were awesome. im surprised that FOX didnt go for that instead od the glow puck.

Thanks for the compliments everyone! I have a few more recent (and by that, I mean the 80's and Hawerchuk era!) in the mail on their way to me. I will try to keep finding these old gems to continue to scan and share. I hadn't seen all that many photos from the earliest days of the WHA Jets before so as soon as I saw them for sale, I went for it!

I'd like to see the scoring if they were equipped like this: Moreso if the goalies were required to stay on their feet at all times like back in 1910. It'd be like basketball, last team with the puck wins. m.

Yeah, how could you not score on those guys?? I LOL'ed at that goalie in the video, surprisingly after all those decades not that big a change from the guy in the pic Deuce posted. The Saints guy looks like he's wearing a sweatshirt and jeans with a piece of cardboard strapped to each leg when you compare to goalies today.

The see through boards must have been a nightmare for the goaltenders!

I tried to post the photo on here but Photobucket was giving me trouble posting it. It is the one with Hull in the foreground and Joe Daley in goal with no face mask or helmet!!! I read that he was one of the last, if not THE last goalie to don a mask playing in net! I had no idea that any goalies were still playing with nothing to protect their faces and heads as late as 1973!!

I would be interested in seeing some pictures of Avco Cup winning celebrations, anyone have any of those to share?

I did see one photo of Joe Daley carrying the cup the last win in 1979. Google Joe Daley and I think it should point you to a photo of that.
