I know they are both left wingers, but I think we need some sort of potential sniper. Both have put up decent numbers in previous seasons with other teams.
Thoughts.

Are they both readily available? I've never been all that impressed with Samsonov...showed flashes I know but can barely remember when...probably going back to his days with the Bruins.

I'd be pumped if the Jets landed Frolov. He's 29 years of age and 6'2. 5 years with 20+ goals (and 1 with 19 goals) Samsonov will turn 33 and is small. 16 goals is his highest output in the past 5 seasons. I think Frolov can turn last season around. He's get tons of playing time and a longer leash with the Jets than the Rangers.

Samsonov has bounced around the NHL. Would you want a car that has been sold every year for the last 6 years. Nope! There's gotta be something wrong with it!! Samsonov is that car.... something just isn't right. Chevy is trying to establish himself as a bonafide NHL GM. Sgining Samsonov wouldn't be doing that. Ask yourself.... Would Ken Holland sign Samsonov. If the answer is no.... then it's no good for us!
Frolov.... maybe worth the gamble, but who knows.

Frolov signed a three year contract with Avangard Omsk of the KHL back in May.
The NHL now has a deal with the KHL towards contracts. In other words he is not a free agent.
