I don't think we as fans have the right to pass any judgment on how TN decides to handle the history which could in fact be to do nothing at all. I think as fans of the team we have every right to comment, criticize, praise, etc., anything they do, just like the fans of the other 29 teams in the NHL do. I realize there are different opinions on the history subject, but I'm just making this general point. And I am very grateful to Chipman et. al. for their successful efforts to bring the NHL back to Winnipeg, but they won't be immune to criticism or second opinions. That's just the nature of running a sports franchise imo.

i am ok with this, and while i agree it is important to honor great players, a banner in the rafters is enough for me. look at montreal...they have retired so many numbers they have so many players wearing ridiculous numbers.

I like Kane! Glad he's able to wear it, ordinarily I'd be against it but he's a big star to come so, thanks to Bobby for allowing this to happen

I am glad that Hull gave his blessing to wear it.. I like the idea of honoring numbers and I still believe that the first Jets game in Phoenix may be the night that we actually get the "official" history back. They said they were going to do something special, and it seems funny that the Jets would be the team scheduled to be their home opener opponent

It'll be sad and embarassing

It'll be sad and embarassing TNSE will not participate in anything that will be embarassing and sad for Jets fans and to this city and province. I'm sure if you asked Chipper about the time Phoenix retired Hawerchuk's number, you will for certain not get a very positive reaction. Also, just what is "getting our history back" really mean? If its just statistics/records and the right to have that recordable continutiy applied to the current franchise and the right to have it printed in a fricken media guide, is that really important? We have the identity that defined the original Jets and we can celebrate/honour the teams that played under that name and logo all we want. Seriously, when TNSE unveils a third jersey with an old Jets logo, are we wearing a Phoenix sweater? NO.

I'd put the chances of Phoenix giving are our history back at 0.0001% Which, oddly enough, is the same chances of Phoenix having a NHL team next season!

I am happy Kane wll be wearing number 9.
I agree with TN, honor the player, not retire the number.
I want Stanley Cup Championships!!!

I'm not big on retiring numbers and to me it's generally over-done in sports. I think that in the Jets 25 year history so far only 2 numbers warrant it... 9 & 10. You MAY get one player in a decade that actually warrants the honour. Hull gave Kane blessing to wear #9, but what else was he going to do...say no? Not that big a deal to me but I would have preferred that Kane had taken different number.

Players come and go... Bobby Hull played a handful of NHL games for the Jets. You're clinging to a defunct league and Phoenix Coyotes history...
