Alright everyone is on edge with the dragging on of the Phoenix Coyotes so I felt this was the perfect time to push everyone over the edge by asking a controversial question. Non-Canadians just post a comment with your choice based on your country's political parties.

None of them are perfect but looking at what party and leader most fits my ideals and whom I feel is best for the country, without a doubt, the Cons.
The thought of the NDP in power makes me shudder.

As far as US politics go, I was a big fan of Bill Clinton but most closely identify with Rebublicans. Mitt Romney had me until he came out against gay marriage. To me thats one of the things that will be so shameful in years to come. Its the right for women to vote etc...I mean, who cares if two people want to be together?
But that makes me an undecided because I would not support Obama either.

If I was an American I'd likely be a right-leaning Democrat. In Canada, I'm a mainstream conservative.

In my humble opinion all politicians left right and centre (literally) are all liars. For some odd reason there is often a perception particularly among younger folks that the left much more honest and moral.
It was nice to see unknownposter's comment, that is one thing I would commend Obama for, I mean Rommney and Obama will/have rape the planet while in power but at least Obama has the decency to not discriminate against people based on their orientation.

The problem with American (and increasingly, Canadian) politics is that it's become increasingly an "us vs. them" mentality, where most politicians are focussing more on stopping the opposition from getting anything done rather than what's best for their constituents.
For that reason, many of my peers voted Tory in the last election even though they agree with very few to none of the party policies. Many voters would rather have the people they might not like as much actually accomplishing things, as opposed to seeing their preferred leader not getting anything done.

Obiously with me being over here, not that much knowledge with Candian politics, but if your Conservatives (aka Tories) are anything like ours, then Tories. If not them, then UKIP (United Kingdom Independance Party) - pretty much for getting us out of the European Union. However, if I don't agree with any of their policies, there's always the Official Monster Raving Loony Party en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Official_Monster_Raving_Loony_Party

On another note I should have put in an option for "I don't vote" to watch people make that the majority choice.Proving people will vote for anything that dosent mean a thing but avoid elections lol.

Dont fall for the Jack nonesense. He was a good speaker and did amazing things for the NDP, but the last thing Canada needs is an NDP gonverment. I like the voices on the left being heard because they speak up for important things and keep the right honest, but lets not get crazy...Jack did seem like a genuine person. I also think Harper is a genuine person who truly wants to have positive change for Canada. In fact, in most cases, they all do...they are all patriots to an extent.
Also, on the subject of Homosexual marriage (and I love that this forum changed G A Y to "happy" lol), I dont believe Obama was speaking up for his beliefs. I think he was playing politics all the way...and framing his position as being influenced by his daughters was lame.
On a crazy note, I also think there is "something" to the Obama conspiracy. Not saying he isnt American but I think when he was younger he used his status to his benefit. Im too lazy to look up details, but there is something there. What bothers me is the people that say "even if he lied about his citizenship, who cares?" I mean, really? If he did lie or even if he claimed Kenyan citizen when he was younger and lied about that, *that* is an important fact voters should know. If you disagree with the US constitution, so be it. But its the law.

But its the law. I beg to differ. I think the worst thing immaginable is a Conservative majority for their apathy towards the working man. We need to focus on things such as our health care by including more coverage and education to put us back as the best in the world not the military and billions of dollars in airplanes to compete with Russia over the NW passage. The furthur left you go, the better the country is. With regards to the Obama controversy I do not know enough about it to comment.
