How many Jets games will be televised in Winnipeg on local TV for free? Just wondering how things work in Canada, because in the states, people without cable just get to watch a hand full of games each season in all sports.

CBC has 21.
I think you'll need cable to get TSN.

TSN in Canada is usually on the most basic cable packages, so while not free, its not overly expensive to get TSN. So nationally in Canada, most people will get a chance to watch roughly 30 Winnipeg Jets games this year without a major TV investment.
However, I'm going to get NHL Centre Ice to ensure I can watch all 82 games on TV (except for the games I'll see live in Winnipeg, Phoenix and Vancouver this year ;D )
Wow! Excited!

Once again centre ice won't allow you to see all 82 games and will not be necessary. There will be a local rights holder which will broadcast non national games. Jets games will be blacked out on centre ice in Winnipeg. Centre ice is to get out of market games locally.

regional tv will go to sportsnet west. No, TSN is getting the rights not sportsnet. Sportsnet has the rights to all Cal, Edm and Van games TSN has the rights to Mon and when announced the Jets.

regional tv will go to sportsnet west. The free press has been saying for weeks that tsn will be the local rights holders but it just hasn't been officially announced yet.

Thanks for the replies. It seems things are about the same in Canada as it is here in the States. I always get the Center Ice package, so I will most likely get every Jets game here in Ohio!
