Worst trade was sending a future selke and 4 time stanley cup winner Kris Draper to the Wings for a dollar. sorry, but thats crap. Draper was an unknown at the time and was barely used. who is to say that he would develop into the player he became while he was in Winnipeg. traded for a dollar though?...ok, that was poor, but baseball players get traded for balls and bats sometimes. pro sports.... Trading anyone for a dollar or for balls and balls is outrageous. What does that say to the player? In my mind it's a slap in the face.... best not to say anything in public......

I laugh everytime someone tries to refute the draper trade saying who knew. Who knew any of the players we traded away would continue to be could. Who know that quintel would suck or tverdovsky would suck. If we knew that then maybe they wouldn't have made the trade lol A trade is a trade and at that exact moment it looked good to the trader. In hind site (which is what this whole thread is about) it was a bad deal. So with that said. The worst trade has to be the draper deal. Because you have to assume he'd be the same person on our team. Just like we assume that teemu would've done what he did in Ana here.

SIGNING a player for a dollar, (which was commonplace in the pre merger NHL for fringe players to get a walk on tryout contract,) but TRADING a player for a dollar is a straight up !@%$ move. Smith should have been fired there and then.
