^ I am interested to see if he can make the jump to the NHL this season. He's picked up the physical play and has shown he has want it takes to be a top playmaking centre, which fits a need for this team. I wouldn't mind him taking another year to develop more but this guy is going to be a beast for the Jets.

For those who didn't see the game tonight, Scheifele was a beast. I think he ended up with 3 assists, was good on faceoffs, made a couple of wicked moves on rushes, and was hitting everything in sight. I couldn't believe how physical he was tonight. Keep it up kid! Exactly. The kid's playing with an edge. The "A" looked good on him as well.

I think Scheifele ended up with two assists but he was the best player on the ice last night bar none. If he plays like that in the NHL he'll do very well.

I wonder where he'd fit on the Jets, 3rd line center with Poni and Antro flanking him?

I'm still not certain he is ready for the NHL yet. A season in the AHL might be all he needs. Hard to predict but he sure is moving in the right direction based solely on his play last night.

He still has a year of junior left, so that would mean he is 2 years away from the NHL. If he doesnt make the team this year, I think he does for sure next year.

Isnt he restricted from going to the AHL this year due to age? If he doesnt stay with the Jets, he'd have to be sent back to Juniors if I recall correctly.

Yes he will play for either the Jets or the Colts this year, next year I think he can play for the Ice Caps.

The question is, can they send him to junior at the start the season if there is a lockout and call him back up whenever the NHL season starts. Becasue if they cant then he will be playing in Barrie for another year for sure.

^ That's what I thought too. But do the Colts have to be eliminated from the playoffs as well before he can be called up or just the regular season?
