Well? What do you think? Who is the Jets MVP thru the midpoint of the season?

Tough choice, but I went with Pavelec.
[Temporarily moved the poll to Jets Talk to get more exposure...]

Pav gets the vote in my books. props to about 4 others on the team tho! Bogo on D, and cant really pick a forward at this moment. 3 or 4 guys are kind of collectively getting stuff going.

Had to go with Pavelec...a couple rough games from him but overall he's been really good.

Pavelec deserves it but I voted for Slater. As the cliche goes, that guy gives 110% every game.

Bogosian eats up major minutes on the back end and has been improving with every game.

Not even close. Bogosian and Kane are honourable mentions, but Pavelec wins this by a landslide.

Pavelec is the quick choice but after further reflection I'm saying Bogo. Smart play, burns the minutes game in and game out, and brings some offense from time to time.

Pavelec's why you guys have a playoff shot...
Look at my Ducks--with Hiller no longer himself, and the Ducks losing the close ones on those goals given up either too early or too late in the period, how much does a goalie matter?
By contrast, J.S. Giguere's record-setting goaltending was the reason we got all the way to Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals in 2003--with a lesser goalie, we might not even get past the first round there.
Pavelec, easily.

I don't want to say Pavelec is overrated but Blake Wheeler is definitely underrated. All he's doing is leading the team in points... That being said Evander Kane is still our most dynamic player and best goal scorer. He does lack consistency but he's still young and arguably our best player. My vote is for Wheels though but it's a toss up between him and Kane IMO.

With out Pavs we aren't sitting within a hair of the playoffs.
With that said the most improved player goes to Biggie Funke, Wheels is leading the team in points and after a slow start has really been producing.

Bogo isn't that good to MVP thus far, my top 3 picks would be 1. Pavs, 2. Kane, 3. everybody know who i would pick for D-Men!

Agree with all of the comments above. My own pick was Bogosian. Pavelec is absolutely right up there, and we would not be where we are without his stellar play. One of the things that I love about this team, though, is what looks like a really amazing set of defensemen looking down the road. Buff had really stepped up his game and improved greatly, before this injury took its toll. Enstrom is a great 2 way player and puck handler. But (and I sure hope he isn't badly hurt), Bogosian has been a pillar of strength for us on defense. With Buff in one D pairing and Bogo in the other, we have 2 big, mobile defensemen with great shots, that really set-up the offense for the team. I am giving the overall MVP to Bogosian because I think he has been very strong defensively, as well as being strong offensively. Enstrom has missed some time, but even apart from that, I would give it to Bogosian.
I am just thrilled with the way our defensemen are looking. I am thinking about how they are going to continue to develop over the next few years. If they continue to trend upwards, we may have that critical core to a succesfull team traditionally - the "big 3" on defense. I'm loving it!
