Rangers in 6.....2 reason. 1) Texas has been my fav team since Pudge was their catch (position I played) and he was 18 yrs old at that time. 2) they learned from last season!

CArds in 5...I just don't have faith in the Rangers' staff at all, and take it from a Mets fan, who sees this team play year round (one of the few non Dodgers/Angels/Yankees/Mets teams I get to see all the time here in the LA area)...
The Cards are TOUGH. They're a team full of role players and scrappers to support the stars. Chris Carpenter won 1-0 over Doc Halladay in Ohilly to win the NLDS--THAT'S how clutch he is. Tony LaRussa is teh best manager of his time. Albert Pujos is the best non-steroids (ergo, REAL) hitter of this era.
Cards in 5.
Brewers/Rangers probably would've gotten horrible ratings, but at least would have been a bit interestingm a bit more matched--both slugging teams with decent but not awe-inspiring benches, defense, or staffs--and both would've been looking for their first WS win.

Could this be the World Series that saves baseball from being irrelevant? 1975 v2.0?

Hopefully... I think baseball's really recovered in the last several years somewhat... I think it started with the 2004 Red Sox and THAT historic run. Going down 3-0 and coming back to beat the Yankees and then break and 86-year old curse... Now THAT got people interested a bit in baseball again. The last few years have seen better games, better pitching, and rising levels of interest... So with the NBA gone for now, I think MLB just benefited big-time having it's Fall Classic get more attention than it might have otherwise by folks...and as luck would have it, it was a good Series! (NOW LET'S HOPE FOR THE SAME TO HAPPEN WITH THE NHL IN THE NBA'S ABSENCE!)
