I've long believed sports teams in this city and province just weren't meant to win Championships.
I mean, sure, the Bombers were great in the 1980's, but since then.... yeah, notsomuch.
While a "dynasty" for any of our teams is probably out of the question, the drought won't last forever!
Which will be the team to finally quench our championship thirst?
Blue Bombers: 1990 Champs Goldeyes: 1994 Champs Winnipeg Fury: 1992 Champs Brandon Wheat Kings: 1995-96 WHL Champs
Since then...?

Winnipeg Jets won three Avco Cup championships in 1976, 78 & 79.

Yes, I know. The Jets were great in the 70's. The Bombers were great in the 80's.
It gets to a point though, where you grow tired & weary of constantly looking at the past. That's no way to live life.

I would have to say the Goldeyes cause every year they put together a pretty decent squad that either wins the division or gets in the playoffs, plus they got a real shot being in the finals at the moment, the Jets are at least a couple of seasons away from being a contender, the Bombers well as much as I want them to win I don't see that happening for a while and I'm not too sure on the Wheat Kings chances cause I'm not too familiar with the team

This is a stupid poll, seeing that the Goldeyes are in a championship series right now. One would assume that they have the best chance to end their drought.

First I would like to say that the Goldeyes are a class act orginisation. Always contenders, play in a great stadium, and have a loyal fan base. However they are a non affiliated A ball Team. In Hockey you would have: MLB = NHL AAA = AHL AA = ECHL A = Central Hockey League There is no doubt the Goldeyes have the greatest chance of a championship. However there might be a bit of a * beside last Winnipeg/ Manitoba team to win a championship.

^^Actually the Goldeyes are AA ball U R Correct. www.oursportscentral.com/sports/?t_id=553O.K so we are at a ECHL level. I would say that we are at the low end of the AA Leagues. Below The Eastern League, Southern League, and Texas Leagues. More so due to a lack of affiliation. Only my opinion though.

I'll agree with that when the Goldeyes played Quebec from the CanAm League Quebec just dominated us and there AA as well, better pitching and hitting over there

The Goldeyes are an independent baseball team. Not "A", not "AA" and not "AAA".
They are the highest calibre baseball in Canada outside of Toronto. (Actually our team could probably beat the Blue Jays). Several Winnipeg Goldeyes have made major league organizations. Major League Baseball scouts attend games at Shaw Park every year to scout for talent.
Now maybe you're a little better informed.

The Québec Capitales kicked the Goldeyes butts this year. And aren't they winning their championship final as well? Can one not argue THEY are the highest calibre in Canada?
"There, now you're a little better informed."
God lippy, you sure make it hard to like you...

I like the Goldeyes, but they are what they are, a minor league team (which by the way Blackie, could never beat the Blue jays or any other MLB team Them winning a championship would be like the Moose (your favorite team Blackie) winning. It would be ok, but it certainly would not be like the Bombers winning the Grey Cup, or the Jets winning the Stanley Cup. I have no idea why you would include the Wheat Kings, that would have even less impact than the Goldeyes winning
