I was at the MTS Centre yesterday and no ice is in yet. How long does it take to get the ice ready with logos etc. ? If camp started next week, could it be ready in time?

Training camp would be at the ice-plex. Putting in a sheet of ice doesn't take that long, if you put 2 or 3 shifts a day on it.

I'm sure TNSE has a plan in place if the season starts soon.

its a cement floor with no ice for the summer...would cost TNSE a fortune to keep that cool all year long...during the season they do put boards down over the ice for concerts...to get the ice fully ready if/when the season does start would take about a week including all logos and a few skates on it to get the air bubbles taken care of.

How long can the ice be covered? I was having a debate about it last year with some friends. They claimed that the ice was covered and ready all year, and I knew that would never happen, with the refrigeration costs. I know that it takes a couple days to create the ice, and they cover it for shows if you have a show during the season, but I don't know what happens if they have a week with several shows and no hockey, but during the season.
Also, how do they get rid of the ice? I've seen how they put it down, but never the opposite.

They ring the shamwows out in the bathroom sinks! ;D

Ice making can take as little as 5 days or as long as 10 days depending on quality of refriguation units. Our local ice went in 10 days, lines and decals included.

They have been thinking of selling as NHL Water with the tag line Drink what the Pros Skate on, it's in you.
