The trouble with our resident troll is he has no facts upon which to base his snide comments.
The Winnipeg Stadium (and the Winnipeg Arena) were owned and operated by a CoW group called Winnipeg Enterprises. Those people were tasked with running those facilities and hold all responsibility for their run-down state.
The Bombers assumed control of CanadInns in 2004.

Some sports facilities age like a fine wine - lovingly maintained and renovated over the years. Wrigley Field and Fenway Park and Lambeau Field, and even the Montreal Alouettes Percival Molson Stadium (which opened in 1919(!)). Other sports stadiums... age like the cheapest swill you can imagine. Neglected and left to fall apart, rust, and decay. Owned and operated by an uncaring, aloof, indifferent sports franchise. A free $10.00 giftcard to Applebee's to the first person who can guess where Canad Inns Stadium factors in! It doesn't matter. We have a new stadium. I guess the "Big Owe" in Montreal, Taylor Field in Regina, Empire Field in Vancouver, and Ivor Wynne Stadium in Hamilton all fall into the same category because they were all replaced, or are going to be replaced. You could also say the same thing about old Yankee Stadium and at least half of the old NHL arenas. If you bash the Bombers for this, then you are bashing most other sports franchises, as well. The new stadium will be better and more deluxe for CFL football than the MTS Centre is for NHL hockey. Without question.

If they use TNT on the stadium it may not fall, just like the Arena. But I do hope they try so everyone can gather 'round.

The Velodrome was a Winnipeg institution! What an amazing facility, it literally disappeared overnight!

They should wait until they're 100% sure Investor's Group Field will be ready for summer 2013 before tearing down Canad Inns.
Er, wait.. they were "100% sure" last year too... hmmm....
But just imagine how hilarious it would be if the new field isn't ready and the Blue Bombers asked everyone to bring back the seats/benches they purchased. El-oh-el.

You should really see some of the photos and videos that are online, which show that the stadium is near completion. Slightly different than last year's scenario. You know, you would be bashing the organization if they had no intent on getting a new stadium. And here you are constantly bashing them for building one. It's just purely a catch-22 with you, isn't it? Just as an aside.... You are always also bashing the Jets 1.0 and its faithful followers. Why, then, do you have 1.0 logos all over the bottom of your posts, now? Fair question. ELL....OH....ELL.

Are you trying to out do Todd for the most obnoxious poster? The only remaining unfinished parts of the new stadium are interior with no bearing on weather etc. The field is in the seats are in.

donwood, be nice now.
I'm merely saying it wouldn't surprise me, given the track record of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, if Investors Group Field was delayed again.
Last year, many people said "It'll never be ready for 2012!" ... many Blue Bomber fans said (in rebuttal): "Are you crazy?? The Blue Bombers and Garth Buchko SAID it'll be ready for 2012!!"
I rest my case.

And I certainly don't remember any Bomber fans on this forum calling anyone crazy for thinking that the stadium wasn't going to be built for 2012. Dig up some proof and I just might give you a karma. Do I think you're crazy for suggesting that the stadium will not be ready for 2013? Yes. Certifiably.
