Montreal’s AHL affiliate, the Hamilton Bulldogs, recently announced their 2011/12 regular schedule. On Saturday, October 8th, the Bulldogs will open their season at home versus the Rochester Americans (BUF). The Bulldogs will play two games at the Bell Centre in Montreal this season: on November 18th versus the Binghamton Senators (OTT) and on February 24th versus the St. John’s Ice Caps (WPG). www.ourhometown.ca/sports/DE0002.php

Nice, why don't we do something like that? We could totally have the Ice Caps come here for one or two games. Yes its a bit further for travel, but if they did it at the end of a shorter roadtrip it could be doable.

While it would be cool,I would be 100% against it.Taking a home game away from the Caps dedicated fan base would be wrong the way I see it.I wouldnt want the Jets to play any home games there at all,no offence to St.John's.If for some reason they started drawing poor numbers in the future like Hamilton, then I'd change my mind.

I think it would be a good idea for the Jets to play their preseason games in Saskatoon, or somewhere they are trying to market to.

Calgary's farm team played at the Saddledome last year but it was far from a full building.

I think it would be a good idea for the Jets to play their preseason games in Saskatoon, or somewhere they are trying to market to. I think it would be a great idea.......except the Jets have sold pre-season tickets at the MTS Centre at regular season prices. For example my buddies and I have 4 tickets in P3 at $94.00 a game x 3 games = $1128.00 for the pre-season and this is only P3. There is also P1,P2 and luxury suites. TNSE makes far more $$$$ playing games at the MTS Centre. The tickets for the Oilers and Blackhawks game in Saskatoon is: Ticket prices for the September 20th Chicago-Edmonton game range from $37.50 to $97.50 (plus applicable services charges) and will be available through all Ticketmaster outlets, on-line at ticketmaster.ca or by calling (306) 939-7800 or 1-800-970-7328. "The Oilers look forward to returning to Saskatoon and to a match-up against Chicago,” said Edmonton General Manager, Steve Tambellini. “We know we have a lot of Oilers fans in Saskatchewan and of course we always look forward to playing Chicago."oilers.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=550703

That way those on the Jets ticket waiting list could see what the inside of MTS Centre looks like.

Eventually, I would think that might stop. For next season though, with a little more time to work on the schedule, I would think TNSE might want to try to push to have some of their away games against US teams played in Saskatchewan or even Grand Forks or TBay. Gets our brand out there a little more, and obviously would bring in more revenue than a game in 9 out of 10 US NHL cities. Another thought I've always had, is that the Jets should start training camp each year with the first day or 2 in a smaller MB town, or SK, NW ONT or ND town. Not the whole training camp, but open up a day or two to the public and host it in different places each year. That will help make the Jets feel like the local team in a wider area.

I was kind of hoping there would be a St. John's vs Chicago game at MTS Centre this year-it would be neat to see the old Moose go up against our new prospects and AHL guys.

Oh and WBS played a game in Pitt last year. Only a little over 13,000, mostly Hershey fans, showed up.

According to one of my fellow sim league GMs, the Habs toolbar said it was a game between the Bulldogs and PEI IceCaps.
Huh?!
