Entire season? No. Most of the season? Yep.
Sophie's Choice, Hockey Style: Do you take Crosby in your draft if you have the number one pick?

Not a chance.
I sure hope Crosby recovers, but it looks like he will miss training camp, and most likely the start of the season. After reading a few articles on sports related concussions, and their effects, and hearing what Pat Lafontaine and Paul Kariya have said, I am convinced Crosby should sit out most of the season.
When a player is out this long and the recovery process takes nearly a year, then we can begin to talk about if Crosby comes back at ALL, nevermind this season. It's not uncommon for sports athletes to experience bad concussion symptoms for up to two years after the incident.
I just hope Crosby will one day come back and be symptom free, but I do not like the odds. Most people are starting to realize that this could be the beginning of the end of his career.

He seems to have symptoms every time he starts to exercise, that is not a good sign.
I would not be surprised if he misses 2011-12.

I REALLY hope he doesn't go the way of Eric Lindros, That is probably why they are proceeding with extreme caution. Bobby Clarke and the Flyers were notorious for their "if you have a heartbeat, you are fine" attitude.

I honestly think that he will do fine. I think he will be back before Christmas.... (I am not sure if I am saying that emotionally or logically, as I hope the boy is good to go)

Anyone remember that movie friday night lights? There was a RB who could have gone to the NFL but he hurt his knee and tried to play way too early further injuring it to the point that he couldnt play again. Honestly Crosby should sit this season out, he shouldnt take the slightest risk of putting his career and life in jeapordy.

DAMN! That sucks for him! And this is coming from a dude who's more a fan of Ovechkin than Crosby!

Every time he plays/trains/excercises, his symptoms start again.
I really hope it is not the case, but he could be done...

At first I thought, "There's no way Sid's out for another season" but now it's looking a little more grim.

I agree with the beginning of the end of his career thing, reports/interviews are saying now that he's doing good, but you can never really fully recover from a head/knockout injury.. all it takes is one Iginla hit or one Matt Cooke cheap shot and it call be all over.. you get my drift..

Crosby is definitely one of my favorites and this whole concussion thing scares me. I know guys in minor hockey who have had to quit playing because of several concussions. I just pray he'll be alright and that they don't rush his recovery. I'd rather have him 100% and wait another year then just throw him in there now and risk it.

I was hoping he'd take the year off. The Pens have been my team a long time now and given the issues that guys like Savard have had, I think it would be worthwhile for Sid to take a long time to recover.
Plus I think that would send a real message to the NHL about headshots.
