Penguins' Crosby nearing return to actionThe Canadian Press Posted: Oct 28, 2011 5:15 PM ET Last Updated: Oct 28, 2011 5:11 PM ET Sidney Crosby was on the ice for the weary Pittsburgh Penguins optional skate Friday, one of only a handful of players from the NHL's busiest team who didn't take the day off. No surprise there. With his concussion symptoms vanishing, Crosby can't wait to get to the rink these days. His return to the sport he was dominating at this time a year ago appears to be drawing ever so close. How close? That remains the unanswered question, although there isn't the slightest hint it will occur when Pittsburgh visits Toronto for a Saturday night matchup of two hot teams. read full article: www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/nhl/story/2011/10/28/sp-crosby-practice.html

I am starting to think Crosby might never be alright. He might be pre dispositioned to having issues on a slight contact from here on out.
If he is having headaches and issues from the collision with his own teammate that didn't even make contact with his head.

Recurrence is the big thing with concussions. Lindros, Lafontaine, there are others who I can't think of right now, all had the same story. After that first one they came fast and easily.

He's on pace for like 106pts. in 60 games. He just sat out 2 games for precautionary measures after taking a big hit.... not sure why anyone would think that he'd be done.

It's over.
If Crosby hasn't recovered by now, he may as well retire. The NHL are a bunch of idiots for not drastically changing the rules to protect the star players. What a bush league. The NHL and NHLPA have no concern for the well being of their stars. How many Boogard's, Probert's, Lindros', Lafontaine's, Savard's, Belak's, and Rypien's will it take to overhaul the system?

Thank the morons that run the NHL for letting their most valuable asset get pummeled into early retirement without fear of repercussions. When I was a kid, Gretzky would display his magic to the world because people were afraid to take undue liberties on him. Maybe it's time to bring back the 'goon.'
