i plan on wearing white to the home opener and at least half of the games -- b/c I anticipate to get a lot of mustard stains and beer poured all over me in the "ass-tight" 300 levels -- but I'm going to LUV EVERY MINUTE OF IT!!

Wrong. Dont assume Red Wing fans were all wearing red. Many of the fans wore their white jerseys to get into the (stupid) spirit of whiteout and 2) because that is the color of their team on the ice. Yes, there is a good amount of Detroit red in the stands, but it's mixed with a good amount of Coyote red.
We can say he said she said for ages, but I was there. Were you?

Sorry for confusion, hit send too soon before I could revise. Response is meant for Biff. Anyway, I mean to say that when you are in arena there is confusion just because both team's fans have red. When live, the flow of the crowd and Boise is obvious from start, but also, when live, the two reds ate distinct. Red Wing red is much brighter and photos or tv do not make it as obvious.
Besides, those of us who don't want whiteout don't have to wear red. We're not calling fir a Redout. One game, I wore my dark blue 2011 NHL AllStar Yandle jersey. And my little protests will always make it on TV when the camera pans to the goal just right, as our seats always make the top of the screen when there is action around goalie's left during wide shots: row 7. Anyone here remember that article on AZCentral that some Coyote fan wrote that was pleading with the Red Wing fans to wear their white Wings gear to the games in PHX? That was pretty priceless.

And our whiteout was NOT a marketing ploy (which it may have been in Phoenix) but a cult proudly brought about by fans of the Winnipeg Jets - and that's even with serious walk-up crowds of those days!
