The Jets stunned the JHF pick 'em crowd last night, being on the receiving end of Capital Punishment despite our predicting otherwise. See what I did there? We were playing the Capitals so I made a reference to Capital Punishment even though no one was executed. From what I saw on TV the Jets were incapable of any kind of execution last night.
Laughter. It's all I have after that debacle. Too bad I don't have any funny material, just meandering thoughts that bring to mind a variety of chemical imbalances. Anyway, down to virtual business:
Season gaming summary:
Ottawa - $100 loss
Boston - $ 50 gain ($100 bet at -200 odds)
Washington - $155 gain ($100 bet at +155 odds)
Pittsburgh - $124 gain ($100 bet at +124)
Long Island - $69 gain ($100 bet at -145)
Montreal - $63 gain ($100 bet at -160)
Florida - $100 loss
Tampa - $57 gain
Florida - $70 gain
Toronto - $100 loss
Ottawa - $100 loss
Philly - $100 loss
Pens - $67 profit
Bruins - $71 profit
Buffalo - $135 profit
Carolina - $135 profit
Philly - $100 loss
New Jersey - $100 loss
Rangers - $140 profit
Devils - $91 profit
Caps - $100 loss
Florida - $100 loss
Tampa - $100 loss
Florida - $83 profit
Jersey - $100 loss
Loafs - $87 gain
Rangers - $95 gain
Loafs - $125 gain
Sens - $80 profit
Bruins - $100 loss
Caps - $100 loss
Thus we're up a virtual $397.
(For those following at home I've been tracking how we vote on the results of Jets games and calculating the net result for a $100 virtual bet).
Moneyline: The Jets are again solid favorites tonight at -135/+125 (compared to last night's -145/+135). A winning bet on Winnipeg gets $74 profit while a winning bet on the Caps gets $125 profit.
Given last night's obscene performance I'm going to call for a Caps win. In fact I will bet all my Star Wars guys on the Jets losing.
(Whoa, whoa, whoa, wait! Except Boba Fett. No matter how sure I am, I never risk the Fett man.)
