Hopefully the flow of traffic on and off campus is handled properly. With only 2 ways to enter/exit (Chancellor Matheson and University Cres) it could get pretty congested if the flow isn't mangaed properly. At the old stadium there were several routes to take in any direction...I never found it that bad parking within a few blocks on the route I was going to take home. Having been to US college games and NFL games with 70000+ people, it can be done. There the event staff and police work pretty good at clearing the traffic. I hope they do the same here. Unlike Winnipeg though, those places plan around those stadium with many arteries and expressways. Not us... 2 ways in, 2 ways out and traffic lights everywhere. Park and ride is a great idea but I hope the lack of roads in and out don't make it a nightmare How about the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome? Skydome? BC Place? There are PLENTY of large stadiums that are equally congested. Even with freeways surrounding a stadium there are always bottlenecks getting on the freeway.

I agree. I dont think it will be as bad as people say. People look at how many roads out of St James is but its pretty bad right around the Stadium. If they are smart and have Cadets working the intersections after games and keeping traffic moving, that would be even better.

looking at the Maps on the bomber site....it might not be all that bad... The "Park and Ride" sites seem to be located in areas that are suitable for Rural fans...such as at the Assiniboia Downs..

Looks good to me, I'm near a Express route so 5 minute walk to catch a bus all the way to the stadium.

So if you live in a rural area...cant ride a bike...and no WPG tranist, whats the plan? I guess drive to a designated park and ride location? I'm guessing this is going to be the only option for out of towners? Perhaps it wont be as bad as I think....for those living in the city perhaps it wont be so bad but I see it being a pain in the but for those living outside the perimiter. Glad I don't go to Bomber games! Okay, Slippy.

When they hold the annual marathon every June at the U of M, I would go in the half marathon and we would park on Pembina in someone's parking lot and walk in. It was a nice warmup to the run and not as far as you might think.....

The media really drives the unhappiness on this. Before details were announced the radio (I think it was TSN1290 or CJOB) were plugging the announcement and being very negative about how it *must* be a bad plan because its "a 9 point plan".
Even today when the details are well known, they were still nitpicking it.
How much is it costing the Bombers to set up these park & rides. They have made deals with local business (and will make more) to make their lots available at a cost and the Bombers will still pick you up.
What more do fans want? A 30,000 spot parkade and a free rental car on game days?

I think the new media business model is be controversial, piss people off, then sit back and enjoy the fallout. TSN1290 is a horrid station, especially the morning (BS) show and anytime lawless is spewing words.

Jay Richardson can be a bit too much sometimes, like he's trying to be Jim Rome. But I value their opinions. Troy Westwood is really good (I know he gets some flack).

I can't listen to Westwood ever since 2/3 of the way through last season where he went on a big rant that the Jets should play for the tie in overtime against division teams, so they can't get an extra point. He didn't even freaking realize there were shootouts in hockey and that ties no longer exist! How is he paid to analyze the Jets on air when he clearly hasn't watched an NHL hockey game in 8 years?!
