I'm honestly shaking with excitement as i type this.
Okay, so the AHL conference semifinals ended tonight, with a Game 7.
Providence was taking on Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in the Eastern Semis. The Bruins won a barn burning Game 1 8-5 followed by a 4-2 win in Game 2. Then, when the series shifted to Wilkes-Barre, they took advantage of a turnover by Alex Grant to win Game 3 2-1 in OT, pushing the Baby Pens to the brink.
Then, all of a sudden, something kicked in and the team rallied.
Providence scored first in Game 4, but the Pens put up 3 in a row to extend the series with a 3-1 win; Game 5, a brawl fest, was also won by the Penguins, 4-0.
Then it headed back to Rhode Island and in Game 6 the Bruins dominated, taking a 1-0 lead on a goal by Craig Cunningham early in the second. Brian Dumoulin answered, and despite just 8 shots after the first period, Trevor Smith won the game in OT for the Baby Pens. Brad Theissen had a heroic 46 save performance, which is crazy because Jeff Zatkoff started the first two games in the series.
Game 7 was rather anticlimactic as the Pens put up 4 in the second and romped the Bruins, in their own barn, 5-0.
I can't bloody believe this. It's just the third time in AHL history a team has erased a 3-0 deficit, but the first that they won Game 7 on the road.
The Choke Artist Bruins are headed for the back 9 while Wilkes-Barre joins Syracuse, Oklahoma, and Grand Rapids in the conference finals.

Wow, now both Bruins teams have dropped 3-0 series leads in the playoffs. Unreal... m. Even eerier: Providence captain Trent Whitfield was on that 2010 Boston team, playing 4 playoff games that year.
