"Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak told reporters over the weekend that "deliberate" action by somebody on board accounted for Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 veering off course." "A terrorist group that might have a motive is the East Turkestan Islamic Movement, a separatist group in China founded by Uyghurs that has had some historical ties to al Qaeda and the Taliban. The Uyghurs are an ethnic group in western China who are Muslim. The group has conducted a number of terrorist attacks in China. Uyghur terrorists might have a motive to hijack the Malaysia Airlines flight as it was bound for Beijing and most of the passengers were Chinese. But Uyghur militants have operated almost exclusively inside China. And when they have tried to mount hijackings in the past they have been complete flops. On March 9, 2008, a 19-year old Uyghur woman attempted to set off some kind of explosive device on a flight from the Xinjiang Uyghur region en route to Beijing. The flight crew detained the woman before she could detonate the device. Four year later, on June 29, 2012, half a dozen Uyghur men attempted to take control of an aircraft flying in the Xinjiang Uyghur region using pieces of a metal crutch that had been sharpened to make crude weapons. This plot was also foiled." www.smh.com.au/national/mh370-if-it-was-a-hijack-bid-terrorism-analysts-say-it-was-not-quite-successful-20140317-34y5t.htmlwww.cnn.com/2014/03/17/opinion/bergen-flight-370-terrorism-role/index.html

"Flight MH370 crashed into the Indian Ocean in an apparent suicide mission, well-placed sources revealed have revealed, as Malaysia’s prime minister announced that everyone on the missing aircraft had died.
The team investigating the Boeing 777’s disappearance believe no malfunction or fire was capable of causing the aircraft’s unusual flight or the disabling of its communications system before it veered wildly off course on a seven-hour silent flight into the sea. An analysis of the flight’s routing, signalling and communications shows that it was flown “in a rational way”.
An official source told The Telegraph that investigators believe “this has been a deliberate act by someone on board who had to have had the detailed knowledge to do what was done ... Nothing is emerging that points to motive.”
Asked about the possibility of a plane malfunction or an on-board fire, the source said: “It just does not hinge together... [The investigators] have gone through processes you do to get the plane where it flew to for eight hours. They point to it being flown in a rational way.”www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/malaysia/10720237/Malaysia-Airlines-crash-Suicide-mission-theory-of-MH370-investigators.html

^ the whole thing is a clusterfcuk. The Malaysian government has said so much garbage and their investigation has been shaky at best. I personally don't believe a word they say and we won't know for sure what happened until/ if they find the plane's black box.

I personally don't believe a word they say and we won't know for sure what happened until/ if they find the plane's black box. Even with no real knowledge about planes though, it does seem like it was pretty likely a deliberate act. Hard to imagine how all communications could be turned off and a plane turned almost 180 degrees and flown into the middle of the ocean by accident. Anything is possible I suppose, but hard to imagine how enough things could go just perfectly wrong for that to happen as a malfunction, and the pilots not even try to make some sort of contact with authorities.
