I miss Winnipeg and Manitoba. I would love to come back, but I would be only making 1/2 of what I make in Alberta. Once I pay off my condo, I may sell it and move back.

I came back to Winnipeg from Calgary last year.
I am making less money due to taxes, thanks NDP.
But, the people here are way nicer, the summers are hot and I love Grand Beach!

You'd be making 1/2 as much but I'll bet you could get a decent sized house for the price of that condo! That's a myth. It's really only true with Fort McMurray and Calgary. Edmonton is slightly more expensive than Winnipeg, while medium sized cities like red Deer, Lethbridge, and Medicine Hat are of similar value. Edit: found this link (Avg. Priced homes in Canadian cities: www.cbc.ca/news2/interactives/housing-canada/Calgary is about $100,000 more to live than Edmonton. Edmonton is starting to increase in price to $364,000, while Winnipeg prices decreased to $267,000. However, when you consider taxes are much less, the wages are far higher, it's somewhat easier to pay off a house in Edmonton. You can all thank the NDP for that, since while Alberta and Saskatchewan were eliminating taxes, Manitoba was increasing them becuase they are running a huge deficit by running the new Hydro line the wrong way, bailing out the Human Rights Museum, and paying for the new Stadium, among other things. As for the medium sized cities in Alberta, they are slightly more expensive to live than Winnipeg, but less than Edmonton (Red Deer, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, etc.)

I think I've figured out who you are on Winnipeg Zoom PS, Calgary sucks PPS, Don't listen to that grumpy geek Riverman. He is nothing but a city basher, Toronto lover (gross) and all-around loser. Don't let money cloud your judgement based on the stupid comments he makes. In reality, he knows nothing.
