From the forced apology for wainwright for "grooving" two absolute 88mph meatballs that Jeter might as well have broken his hip trying to hit and managed to squeak a double.
mentioning jeter then 100 times and IGNORING the death of a great man to cancer caused by Chewing which is ALLOWED by the league.
this is why i hate fox and ESPN they protect their product and ignore journalism.
Im already sick of the jeter farewell tour. He deserves his day, BUT WAIT FOR THE DAY TO COME!!!! I hated marianos get a gift where he goes stupidity.
How about this. PLAY THE GAME. When its his last at bat we will KNOW.
CANCEL THE ALL STAR GAME JETER IS RETIRING.

I couldn't agree more. The Jeter stuff was way over the top. Jeter is a hall of famer but he was still always overrated. He played on great teams in the biggest market and defensive metrics show he didn't deserve most of the gold gloves he won. I never cared for Jeter. He didn't even belong in the all star game. He should have kept quite and announced his retirement at the end of the year. But that's not his style. His style is to bring attention to himself then pretend he is humble. I can't wait until he is gone. It was pathetic they never mentioned Gwynn. Absolutely pathetic. Selig did address the tobacco thing. He wants to ban it but the players union probably won't let him. Reason fox made such a big deal of Jeter is they are desperate for ratings for the all star game. No one cares about it anymore. Having it count for home field in the world series is a joke and one of Seligs dumbest moves. Guess what even with home field on the line no one cares. espn.go.com/mlb/allstar14/story/_/id/11219208/bud-selig-players-association-aim-rid-mlb-smokeless-tobacco-use

Selig yesterday at his press conference showed he still doesn't get it about pace of game. He said the rules on guys who take too much time just need to be enforced. Problem is they never are or are for just a short period. MLB's number 1 problem/need is a pitcher/batter time clock to be put behind home plate. Season is long enough with 162 you can't add 20-30 minutes per game on guys scratching themselves. You will lose too many young people long term.

I think you could go with a you step in you are in you step on you are on.
Step out of the box? STRIKE
Step off the mound not to go to a base with a runner? Ball. doit twice? balk.
watch old baseball....they used to catch the ball step on the mound get the sign and go...maybe it was the cocaine? haha

Yep, you got the right idea. This has to happen. Games need to be 2 and a half hours more like NBA/NHL.
It wasn't that LOL. The problem was Mike Hartgrove. They called him the human rain delay. He started all of this and no one has been bright enough to stop it/enforce the rules. MLB should hire Mark Buerhle once he retires to teach every single pitcher on how to pace themselves. Love watching how quickly he works.

That's another thing that has to go along with the massive delays. Next time someone complains about the "unwritten rules" they should receive a massive fine. Just plain stupidity. The shift these days is being used more than ever but your not suppose to bunt to beat it??? How convenient for the pitchers.

No! Let's argue and eventually refer to each other in derogatory terms after a series of back and forth posts that get us nowhere!
