Hello All
In my on off love affair with sports select I am coming to the realization that not everything might be above board as one might expect in the NBA.
Have you ever watched a game where something happens that just doesn't sit right with you? If you ever put some money down on some games you may know what I'm eluding to.
Recently I've been doing a little pools betting, some points spread etc.
And now that I'm watching in more detail because it matters I have found it very interesting how the referees are calling these games.
It appears to me that these games are being fixed or helped, not every game, but some of them.
For example, some of the fouling that are being called fouls are outrageous, players can barely come in contact with each other anymore, fouls are being called on incredible exaggerations and acting by the players, then at the opposite end of the court blatant fouls are happening and nothing is being called.
The game no longer has any flow, its a grind watching an NBA game now, now whenever someone does a head jerk the whistle goes and its a foul, if you watch certain teams, they seem to be more involved than other teams.
And if you watch, it seems to be the same referees in on these things.
I know, get out my tin foil hat, but I can't be the only one noticing this.
Any one care to ring in on this?

Shocking, a Canadian hockey fan who loses money on NBA thinks it's rigged. People always have NBA conspiracy theories. My favorite is the one where the Patrick Ewing draft was rigged so big market New York got him instead of tiny Indiana. Supposedly David Stern put New York's draft card in the freezer before the draft so he wouldn't pull it out so New York won the lottery. If NBA rigged things the small market Spurs wouldn't have 5 championships. Spurs are a ratings killer.

If Stern liked to rig things Duncan would be finishing up his career as a Celtic right now. If you were going to rig things there's no way you send a special player like that to still small San Antonio over a MASSIVE market like Boston with a wonderful franchise history. Boston Celtics=glamour franchise in huge market that gets big ratings. San Antonio= small poor market. Note- Some day San Antonio will be a really big city, it's growing fast but for Duncan's career the bottom line is San Antonio is a small market ratings killer.

An NBA ref was thrown in jail for game rigging not too long ago so it wouldn't be breaking any new ground if it was going on now.
I know NHL reffing is squeaky clean but sometimes you watch the games and wonder who's pulling the strings on some of the calls, but fans everywhere in every sprot probably feel their team is getting a raw deal.
