The St. John’s IceCaps, in conjunction with the Winnipeg Jets, announced that goaltender Eric Comrie has been re-assigned to St. John’s.
Comrie, 19, played 40 games for the Tri-City Americans (WHL), going 20-19-1 with a 2.87 goals-against average and a .914 save percentage with one shutout.
For his career, the former second round draft pick of the Jets played 168 games, all with Tri-City, compiling a record of 85-64-15 with a 2.67 goals-against average, a .916 save percentage and 10 shutouts. Comrie played his first professional game today with the AHL Ice Caps. Comrie finished with 28 saves, in a disappointing 3-2 loss, and a 0.903%

Comrie has performed well, and it looks like they are going to play him until the end of the season, as St.John's will not qualify for the playoffs.
Comrie has a 2-1 record, 2.27 GAA, 0.920% save percentage. Imagine a Comrie/Hellebuyck duo in Winnipeg next year. They can be called up on a whim, if one of the Jets goalies performs poorly.
