My wife, bless her, wants to get me a Jets jersey. Not having purchased one in over 15 years, I'm wondering what the difference in quality is like between the replica premier jerseys and the actual game jerseys? The old replica jerseys like we used to have were okay, but I noticed that the newer retro Jets jerseys have a much bigger/nicer team crest on the front. I'm not sure of the material, but the old ones used to be really easy to snag as well.
Please educate me.

The game jersey's are heavier, stitched better, have a fight strap. Sizing is different in game jersey's they are measured with a numerical value unlike replica ie. S, M, L, XL. Game jersey's are much better quality but will run you $150 - 200 more than a replica.

Personally the game jerseys jsut feel better too. For some reason the replicas never seem to fit or feel right. They better though, especially at the price!

Hmm, are the authentics absolutely worth the added cost than in terms of much greater quality? Seems like an awful lot of dough for something they might be changing in a couple of years ...

Yeah, the only thing worse than spending 400 bucks on a high-quality jersey that might change in a cup of years would be spending 200 bucks on a poor quality replica full of snags etc. I'd much rather spend $200 if the quality is reasonable though. That is the dilemma.

Ive never had a problem with my replica jerseys. The thing about the 400 dollar game jerseys, is i can always see myself walking down the steps to my seat, carrying a beer and a tin of nachos (or other appropriate game food), then stumbling into my seat....and spilling both down my front. Now i have a 400 dollar table cloth i wouldnt be caught dead wearing again. I'd be in a panic anytime i wanted to eat, or someone around me was eating/drinking.... Just my thought

Nice, I also noticed that replicas seem like a patch sewn on while authentic seems more directly stitched into the jersey, if that makes sense.

From my research, it kind of depends on where you get it from. Supposedly, the shoulder patches, if any, are heat pressed on the replicas, but some places stitch on the names and numbers while other places, most notably the NHL store website, use heat pressed names and numbers.
